I booked two 1st class tickets from trainline for a journey on a Trenitalia train from Geneva to Milan on 11th September 2023,

After the first stop at Lausanne we were told that train would not be continuing. We had to change trains there and at Brig, both being slow trains which arrived in Milan too late for our connection. We had a further wait of 1.5 hrs at Milan before we could continue our journey. This resulted in arriving at our destination in Como 4 hrs late.

I have contacted trainline on numerous occasions. They declare that I have to seek compensation from Trenitalia.

The compensation form was in Italian, and when I eventually got it translated to English I was unable to put in my address as they write it in a different format in Italy.

I decided to try again today. Trainline were emphatic that it was not their problem, gave me an incorrect phone number for trenitalia, though after a couple of hours searching I got the right number. They were insistent that it was up to railtrack to compensate me. Back and forth for hours.

Eventually I was able to speak with someone from Trenitalia who said it doesn't matter what you put in for the address, any two letters for each box will do!

I did this and indeed got through to a page to claim compensation. This included a 'continue' box which, when clicked, eventually took you back to the same page with 'Continue' on it.

I have spent many frustrating, and no doubt., expensive hours on the phone to both companies without any success. What do I do now?

Desired outcome: compensation for the delaycompensation for the value of the first class tickets
