A bag of Purina Pro Plan Complete Essentials Beef & Rice caused GI issues in my otherwise healthy Lab who had eaten Essentials most of his 10 years. After consuming food from this bag, he began frantically eating grass & vomiting off & on for a week. Then he began having diarrhea. I fasted him & put him on a rice & boiled chicken diet during this time to no avail. I also tried pumpkin & Kaolin. After 2 weeks of this I threw up my hands and took him to an emergency animal hospital (could not get in to see his regular vet for weeks). His vitals were fine & his lab work was normal. They put him on a bland diet schedule also. After a total of 3 weeks, he was finally able to eat normally — another brand of dogfood.
Claimed loss: The emergency hospital visit cost me $765.
Desired outcome: I would like Purina to reimburse me $765 for the hospital visit - due to my Lab eating bad dogfood from Essentials Beef & Rice.
