Pharmacies count in 5s. No way to confuse 30 for 60. The ONLY way you would get only 30 of a 60 is if your insurance will only pay for 30, which would give you a bottle marked with ONE refill.
I swear people think we have a magic closet to keep medications in. No we do not order a million pills over every medication. And some medications are not allowed by the DEA to keep on hand, some narcotics we are only allowed a specific number per year. People need to get a clue.
If their shelves are bare it is because they were busy as hell and you got there too late. It id flu season for God's sake. What is wrong with you people. If you can do it better, get licensed and get to work.
The way a narcotic is filled is up to the feds. You have to wait til the 31st day to fill, because if you try to fill on the 30th day, you still have one day of medication. THAT is the law.
If you think it is stupid, call the feds and DEA and tell them. WE follow the law and NONE of us will risk prison for YOU.
It is a narcotic then. Figures. It is always the narcotic. By FEDERAL LAW, any script the pharmacist is uncomfortable filling they are REQUIRED to refuse. If you live out of the area then she is right to be concerned. Junkies always pharmacy hop to get their meds. WE get people all the way from Miami and Orlando trying to fill Roxies and Oxies and MS Contins. It is not racism, it is smart on the part of the pharmacist. Most pharmacists will NOT fill a narcotic for a patient they have not filled for before.
Walmart charges $4 for some antibiotics, Publix gives them for free. Walmart charges $25 for Humulin insulin, CVS charges $75. Get the picture? There is no law that says any two stores must charge the same or close for the same product. Price gouging, like bait and switch, is used often with no understanding what it is. If there was a natural disaster, and the store charged $10 for a bottle of water they normally charge a dollar for, THAT is gouging. Charging the same price for products they always charge is not.
I am notifying this Lara woman of her name being slandered on the internet. I am sure she will probably want to sue.
Oh, and poster, if you can get licensed then apply for a job in the pharmacy. Not just any old bag off the street can work in a pharmacy.
Do I really need to answer that? If your neighbor won't knock off a store for you, but your brother will, does that make your neighbor right? Just because someone else does something they are not supposed to, does not make the ones who actually follow the law wrong. Jesus. When the across the street get their license pulled where you gonna go?
ROM, If a person can NOT spell, use proper grammar and punctuation, then that person can NOT effectively communicate. End of story. Go back to where you came frum.
Other than the rude customer who broke the line, nothing you complained about is hidden from you. Everyone knows Aldi you have to buy the bags or bring your own, and everyone knows you have to pay a deposit for the carts. If you hate it so much why go there?
As for the customer who broke the line, why didn't YOU confront him? It is not the cashier's place to do so, it is yours.
There is a sign on the door and in the store that plainly says they do not accept credit cards. The reason they are cheap is that they keep their costs down by not supplying bags (which stores pay over a million dollars a year for if they are a big corporation), they do not pay credit card processing fees by not taking cards, they charge a deposit for use of their carts, which is smart, and they make you unload your cart to the belt, also smart.
People complain all the time about how expensive things are, but they never take into account how much it costs to run a business. Aldi also does not allow their customers to abuse their employees, which is another plus in my book. If you want fancy, go elsewhere.
Aldi doesn't care what you think. They are a business and do business their way. If you do not like the way they do business, shop elsewhere. As for the credit card being declined, learn to read. There are signs on the front door and in the store as well as at the checkout that plainly state they do not accept credit cards. And one person, 1% isn't much. But Aldi gets more than one customer, and those percents add up.
Good for them for not bowing to pressure. Another thing I love about Aldi is they do not allow customers to wreck their store or abuse their employees.
I read this on Pissedconsumer, com and I agree wholeheartedly.
I have worked in the retail market for over 20 years, and thought I had seen it and heard it all. But these complaint websites prove just how wrong I was. I would like to take a few moments to address some of the most common complaints and to try to jog your common sense and to attempt to eradicate this horrendous ignorance the general public seems to have somehow adopted in the last 15 or so years.
1. "The shelves are empty and the store does not care" OR "they refuse to stock the shelves" OR "they never order what I want" or the many variations of this statement.
Let me take this issue in hand for you. First, to say that a store never stocks shelves is an outright lie, and you know you are spouting fabrications before you ever utter a word. If any store did not stock shelves there would be no customers, and you are in the store so obviously this is untrue.
While products may from time to time be out of stock, in the general scheme of things, there will always be product for you to buy. To imply that a business, in the business to make money I might add, would refuse to order stock to sell, to make money, is so ludicrous that you should hide your face and be ashamed for even letting something so stupid pass your lips.
If an item is not stocked, there is a good reason, and if you use your noodle you can figure it out. Here, I will help. Out of stock means: someone got there before you, it is waiting to be stocked, it has been ordered and has not arrived yet, it is an assembly item that is not locally warehoused and must come from the manufacturer directly, it is out of stock with the manufacturer, it is on backorder or recall. If we can get it, we get it. We can not make it magically appear, and no matter how much you scream, cuss, throw a hissy, threaten to go elsewhere etc will not make it show up on the shelf. Accusing the employee of not doing their job only makes yourself look stupid. Which brings us to my next point.
2. “You need to do your job” OR “you need to be retrained” OR “you don't know what you are doing” or any variation of this idiotic statement.
If you know my job so well, then clock in and do it. Otherwise, shut up. You do not work there, you do not know my job, you are not my manager so anything you say about my job ability is stupid and makes you look ignorant. If you are not a department manager, or a pharmacy tech, or a doctor, or a vet, or a dentist, or an insurer, or a claims adjuster etc, then you have no idea what the hell you are talking about, so shut up already. How can you, who has no idea what the heck someone's job is, even think you have the skills to judge it? When you say things like to this to people, it is so hilarious, that I personally have laughed in people's faces, and once even handed a customer my badge, told her to get to work, and walked off. Seriously, you don't know jack.
This next one makes me furious, and makes me wonder at people's abject lack of common sense.
3. Cursing, yelling, degrading, abusing, harassing, assaulting retail employees is a big NO NO. Are you stupid? Really, are you a complete and utter ###? You are number one, acting like an ### in public, and number two, you are talking down to someone you most likely have never seen before. Now, people who know me do not treat me like that, so what makes you think you have the right? Because I work in retail? Let me clue you in on something.
When you let your mouth overload your ###, you not only break the law, since I can have your rude, loud mouth arrested for verbal assault, but you literally take your life into your own hands. Really. Have you ever stopped to think that your malice may just be the straw that broke that cashier's back and sets her off on a murderous rampage? How the heck do you know this retail worker you are throwing cans at will not follow you home and kill you while you sleep? You have no idea just who you are dealing with standing in that line, and you have no idea if the person you are degrading or talking down to is a lunatic nut job. Not only is it dangerous, it is downright uncalled for. How would you like someone to treat you or your child that way on your or their job? Next time you start to disparage a retail workers character by attacking their job or their so called lack of education for having that job, you better ask yourself if you are ready to meet your maker. There are some nuts out there, and you may be in one's line.
My personal favorite, the dog in the grocery store people.
4. What the hell ever possessed you to ever think it is acceptable to take your dog into a grocery store? Unless that animal is a service animal, it does not belong where I buy my food. Who the heck are you people? I do not want to see piss and ### on the floor of the produce aisle, or dog hair on the apples. Leave your purse puppy at home for crying out loud. Not only do you look like a ###, you literally could kill someone. There are people with animal allergies that can be so severe they cause death, customers and workers alike. Shopping or work is the one place a person should not have to encounter an allergy. Stop acting so damn self entitled and leave your
pooch at home.
5. This one also goes to the allergy point...ladies, the perfume has GOT to go. People have allergies, and when you walk by us with that stinky stuff following you for 3 miles you are risking our life. How can you be so selfish? People can go into Anaphylactic shock with some of this stuff. STOP SPRAYING THE BODY SPRAY AND AXE!
My next point drives me absolutely crazy...
6. Leaving your unwanted items all over the store. Seriously, if you do not want that raw chicken, why the hell would you leave it in the clothing department? Or that ice cream in the pharmacy OTC area...Are you that damn lazy or just plain stupid? Not only does it cause unnecessary work for those who have better and more important things to do, you are wasting food. So the next time you start complaining to a cashier about the price of food, remember, YOU caused it. Put it back where you got it, OR be smart and GIVE IT TO A CASHIER, so that someone can put it back.
This one pisses me off to no end...
7. THEIVES. Did you not know that we have you on camera stealing that stuff? Really? You think no one knows that YOU took those eyedrops, or that makeup, or that $25 Olay, or that $30 Nicorette? We are not stupid. We have you on camera, we watch it, and everytime we see you come back we call the police. Someday, you will get caught. And seriously, everytime I find an empty condom box, I wish that every one breaks on you. That abortion will cost you a hell of a lot more than those condoms. And why the hell can you not take the empty freaking box with you? WHY do you have to leave it for ME to clean up?
People and their kids...
8. I raised my kids. It is not my job to watch yours while you shop. If we see little Bobby and little Susie running wild, we call the police and the department of children's services and report you. It is especially gratifying if we have your name from the food stamp card or debit card you use, since it is captured on the camera. Watch your kids. Do not let then run wild all over the damn store.
The food stamp [censored]s...
9. Now, before you get your panties in a wad, let me explain that I understand that there are people who need help, and I do not mind that at all. What I do mind, is those holier and better than thou ###s who come in the store dressed to the nines driving Hummers wearing 10 pounds of gold and load up on junk that I can not afford working my ### off, then giving me attitude and being rude while I am having to pay for it. No, I did not take you to raise, and if you had any self respect you would get off your ### and get a job, or keep your legs closed and stop punching out welfare babies. The government should make it mandatory to have either a legitimate, PHYSICAL disability/or a job to get food stamps. If you have another kid while on food stamps, then you should LOSE the assistance. If you use a food stamp, remember that the people at the checkout are the ones working to pay for your food. Treat them with respect.
The pharmacy is a whole different ball game entirely. Here are some points you need to know:
A. First and most important, the pharmacy staff deserves to breaks and lunch just like you do. When the pharmacy is closed, and it closes the same time every day and it is posted on the wall for you see, do not show your ### and complain about how much you need your meds. Everyone else needs theirs too, and you are not special.
B. No, the store manager can NOT get your prescription for you. ONLY pharmacy staff are allowed in the pharmacy, and ONLY when a pharmacist is on site. ONLY a pharmacist can release your meds.
C. ONLY a pharmacist or a pharmacy tech can fill your meds. Do not insist they get someone 'from the store' to come help. Use your brain. Do you really want a janitor filling your script? He would not not know your Metformin from your Cumadin.
D.When you are told the wait time is 30 minutes to a couple hours, screaming and yelling, and insisting you are in pain is not going to make the process any faster. Every one needs their medication, most are in pain too, and sometimes you just have to wait.
E. No, we can NOT just grab it from the shelf and put your name on it. Jesus. I have been asked that so many time. OR, “all you have to do is pull it from the shelf. It is in a blue pack”. Seriously people.
F. Do not even try the old “You shorted me 10 pills”. It NEVER happens on blood pressure medications or diabetic meds...ONLY controlled substances. Do you really think we forget how to count when you have a narcotic script?
G. No, we will not tell you we have narcotics in stock even if we do.
H. We are not your insurance, so yelling at us when they deny your claim is unreasonable. When your medication costs more than last year, that was THEN. After January 1, it starts over. Medication price increases, your deductible starts over, your policy changes etc. Most of the time, we have no idea what the reason is, so yelling at us or expecting us to know what the issue is is ridiculous. CALL YOUR INSURANCE. WE do not make up your price, your policy decides it, so if it is more than you expect, CALL THEM and ask WHY.
I. The medication is free or cheaper somewhere else...Welcome to the free market. No pharmacy is required to have the same price. Shop around, and get over it. WE do not care how much it costs at CVS, and CVS could care less how much we charge.
J. The HIPPA law...People, when there is someone at the pick up or drop off window, DO NOT WALK UP RIGHT BEHIND THEM. You are being rude, nosy, and breaking the HIPPA privacy law. The same law YOU expect US to follow when it is your turn. Unless you want us to loudly proclaim your medications and information to the waiting public, give those ahead of you the same privacy you expect.
K. When we give you your price, do not get all indignant and belligerent. If it sounds like too much, calmly ask if we filled generic or brand, and if it is cash or insurance. MOST of the pharmacy software on the market today defaults to the last used payment method. If you did not have your insurance card the last time, and paid cash, the system may not revert to insurance this time. We can fix it easily. Don't act like we did something wrong when YOU fail to provide us with your insurance, and don't act like we are supposed to know you wanted to bill insurance. Also, when we ask if you have insurance, we are not being nosy. We just want to know how you want to bill your script.
L. Your doctor does NOT work at the pharmacy, so when he tells you that your medication will be ready when you get here, use your common sense. HOW WOULD HE KNOW? HE does not know how many scripts we have in front of you. IF we tell you that your doctor has not yet called or faxed in the script, it is true. WE DO NOT HAVE IT YET. We do not care if your doctor told you he was going to do it right then. He didn't. Do you really think we stand there all day refusing to fill scripts? Seriously. We are a pharmacy, but we are in BUSINESS to make MONEY. No filling means NO MONEY. Use your head.
M. When we tell you we can not check out your buggy full of merchandise, do NOT give us attitude. If we are playing cashier, we are NOT filling your script. Be courteous to those waiting, as others were courteous before you. Not only do you know better, come on...You know you are being unreasonable. GO TO THE CHECKOUT.
That is the crux of it. Do not be this kind of person. Act like you have some sense when you go into a store or pharmacy. And remember, you get what you give. If you act rude, don't cry when you get rudeness.
Any comments or stories of your own?
Customs duties are the responsibility of the buyer, not the seller. Even if you have to return the item. Your government charges the customs taxes to it's citizens. Overseas sellers are responsible for the taxes of their country.
It was below freezing. How much is your time worth, off hours, to go to someone's house to thaw a pipe and fix a leak? In below freezing weather? Not the same as summertime I bet. The fact is that inclement weather costs more than warm sunny weather. Next time, suffer til summer and pay less.
Obama being in the White House is an insult to me. Get over it. If that is all you saw then you totally missed the message.
What does the tracking number say?
I just helped pull a Revlon, Loreal, Maybelline and Almay recall. The product included mascara, lipstick, nail polish, face powder and foundation, eye shadow and liner. The items were not recalled as there was something wrong with them, . They were vendor recalls as the mods were dropping and all left overs were being sent back to the manufacturer. Rarely do makeup manufacturers allow stores, any store, not just WM, to mark down and clearance their product.
Now, I am sorry but I do not believe she just ran off because you asked her a question. When people ask me why I am pulling merchandise, I just say vendor return. The moment you mention the word recall or try to explain they either freak out or ask a million questions I have no time to explain, and they would not understand anyway.
And no darlin. We actually so not have time to read and pull every item from the shelves that appear in sales ads. Believe it or not, price matching actually makes our sales go UP, not down, and we WANT to price match. YOU buy MORE if we do, and we do not care how big the coupon is. The vendor that issues the coupon PAYS us the FACE VALUE, so we do not lose money. Use all the coupons you want.
Wolf, you are confused. Walmart never has sales except Black Friday. The items that show up in the WM ads are not on sale, they are featured for the ad. If the store does a lot of price match business, like ours does, then yes, if the competitors ads are good, we get empty shelves. Nothing we can do but order when it is gone. And no, we can not order triple.9 If my shelf holds 12 of an item, I order 6, unless it is a feature on an endcap). Where would we back stock it? Over 200, 000 items to backstock? I have over 10, 000 in just my departments of OTC and HBA, plus the pharmacy. We would need a whole nother building. The sales ads go for a week at a time. If you can not make it to get the item at WM, then go to the store that actually features the sale. They probably have it.
And Wolf, it is the same exact merchandise from the same vendors from the same manufacturer. How is it better?
Let me also state that WM does NOT price match Buy one get one 1/2 off. They only price match items that have an actualy dolalr amount attached. So a Buy one get one free has to have an amount on it. (Up to or $$ each etc). So it would not matter what that sale was. You can read the WM price match policy on walmartstores.com.
Pat, I AM a WM employee. I never said otherwise. I made this post to clear up your misconception about why someone would pull product from the shelf. Every stores mods drop at different intervals. I have not had Covergirl yet, but the Supercenters in my division have. It is done on a rotating basis, and Market stores are the not on the same rotation. In fact, the mods I am working on this week with vendor product recalls are Baby Care, Burts Bees Naturals, . The Cookware and Bakeware mods will have markdowns for clearance. So if someone sees me pulling something from my shelves that, say Target has on sale, it does not mean I saw a Target ad and went ape to grab it before someone wanted it. It means my mod is ready and the vendor wants their product back. Or it means the product Target has on sale this week will be clearanced at my store the next day after I finish the modular reset.
Seriously, in my town alone there are CVS, Walgreens, Safeway, Bravo, Sav A Lot, Publix, Target and Kmart, all of whom put out sales ads. With all the work I have, as both backup pharmacy tech (licensed) and a fulltime department manager, do you really think I have time to read 8 stores ads every week and pull all the product they have that are housed in my departments? And where do you think I would put it? No store has a magic room where we can hide literally hundreds of thousands of dollars worth of product...so we can NOT sell it to you? Do you really believe we do NOT want to sell this merchandise?
You may not know this, but WM employees get a bonus check every 3 months. Guess what the largest part of our bonus consists of? SALES. Honey, I LOVE the $500 checks, thank you. I could not get them hiding merchandise.
Really, complain about the lack of cashiers, or the time in line to checkout, or something reasonable. But don't accuse us of something so ridiculous.
And you would not have access to any stores vendor recall list. ALL customers have access to is a Product SAFETY recall. That is not what we do when we pull for a vendor recall during a mod set. All a vendor recall is product the manufacturer does not want marked down, which is not the same as a product safety recall, which is listed on a national recall website.
And the district manager would NOT know a stores VENDOR recall list unless they went onto that stores WIRE page and look at the individual store's modular recall list (NOT the same as the National Product Safety Recall Website) . Which she would not do for you as that becomes traded and none of the customer's business. She was being honest with you. The mascara was NOT recalled by the vendor as a product safety issue. It was NOT a SAFETY recall. When a customer asks us if a certain product is recalled, unless it has been nationally recalled for safety, we say NO. Our vendor recalls affect only OUR store individually. WE may not have it anymore, but another store will.
THIS is why I never say more to customers than vendor returns. See? I said the word recall and you went nuts acting like me, the employee, the district manager all lied to you, when you simply have no clue what we do or why we do something on our jobs.
I hope that clears it up. If not, fill out an application and go to work at WM on the modular reset team and you can do it fulltime everyday.
"maybe you should check the walmart policys your self, as I do use coupons and I also price match...until now... I will be shopping else where and you do know you just made yourself look like a imbecile. And all of the recalls on these products you mentioned were from 2012."
I know all the policies that pertain to my store from my home office, and you can read many of them, that is why I gave you the walmartstores.com website address. As for 2012 recalls, once again, those were PRODUCT SAFETY recalls, listed on the national registry, available for all to see, not vendor recalls, which are available only to store personnel.. Again, not the same thing.
Trying to explain stuff like this is like a brain surgeon trying to explain how to do a tumor extraction and the person listening claims the surgeon does not know what he is talking about. Very frustrating, especially since I know, that as a customer, you have convinced yourself that somehow someone was trying to get one over on you when she was only doing her job. Heck, she may have not even known why she was pulling the product. A manager probably said 'go pull the items on this list and bring them back here' and you put her on the spot and she didn't know what to say.
How would you know whether someone was properly trained? Are you a luggage handler for an airline? Do you work for Thai Airways? No? Then you have no idea what their job is, and I am sure they do, better than you do.
Your luggage was wet. It rains. It happens. It is a good idea to pack your belongings in a water tight bag, like a trash bag, before putting in the suitcase. I have done this for years. If your lugagge is fabric then it would only take a good 5 minutes in a down poor to soak it. Some airports have luggage trucks that are enclosed, but not all do.
And you heard this from who?
I did not read all that jumble simply because from the tone of all of your posts you seem like one of those people who no matter what anyone says, Walmart is the devil and you were somehow harmed by their every day activities. I even went so far as to explain, in great detail, how a vendor return worked, and you STILL asked how come not all of the product was removed. If you go back and read all of my posts, you will read that I have already explained that VENDORS CALL BACK ALL ITEMS THEY DO NOT WANT MARKED DOWN. ITEMS THAT DO NOT SELL GET SENT BACK. ITEMS THAT DO SELL STAY. ITEMS THAT ARE DISCONTINUED GET SENT BACK. ITEMS THAT DO NOT STAY. How is that hard in any way to understand? I repeated it several times. You now know more about a Walmart department manager's job than anyone else who does not work there, and you still refuse to grasp that YOU ARE WRONG.
As for me not being there, you gave all the information someone who does work there would need to clarify the situation. YOU posted the information...unless you were lieing. Spread it around even. Show everyone who works at Walmart, hell at any retail store, what a freaking paranoid ### you are. The few who do not work in retail and deal with vendors will believe you, because hey, everyone hates some store for some ignorant reason.
You know what, never mind...yes it is a conspiracy. It always is. Walmart has gadzillions of dollars and does not want yours, so every time we see you coming with your sales ad, we read your mind and pull all of the product the brain waves said you wanted to buy... Bwaaahaaaa...We have nothing else to do all day so pulling thousand of dollars from the shelves to hide in our magic room to keep you from buying it makes us giggle like fools. You should really get a job at Walmart so you can do this to all the people you don't like.
Got to run...Tomorrow the new sales ads come out and I got to man the door so I can see you coming., .Let me get my magic decoder ear piece and NASA reflective mind reading glasses...
OK. It is a conspiracy. We read your mind and know you are coming so we pull all the merchandise you want to buy and hide it.
Seriously, no one, especially not me, ever said you did not see what you saw. I never called you a liar either. I merely told you that what you saw was not them hiding merchandise from you. I also stated many times that vendor recalls do not involve every product as some are still on the manufacturers resell list. Some get discontinued and are never sold again. Some, get sent to busier stores. Some stay. It is a vendor return. WE call it a vendor RECALL. Again, for the millionth time, what we do is NOT the same as a product safety recall. You simply DO NOT KNOW WHAT THE HELL YOU ARE TALKING ABOUT, and every time you get it explained in second grade terms you still refuse to accept that someone who works there and does that job every damn day knows better than you.
YES, I know MORE and BETTER than you do. I know it because I do it every day. So, continue your rant, continue believing that a business in the business of making money somehow does not want to make money off of you. Maybe your delusion will somehow clear itself up. IF you get a JOB at ANY store as the RETURN specialist. But I doubt it.
