no promotions on this section of fedex... it's a dead-end job
not an hourly paid job like ups, usps, or even fedex express!
that driver over-reacted because if he doesn't sucessfully deliver the package, he won't get paid for the attempt
you can just leave a note with your signature for the next attempted delivery & he/she will have to bend the rules a bit to satisfy the customer
dan, you're in the wrong here...
this person that complain has a legit complaint!
I also am a driver, but I will not put a package out to get wet if the garage isn't open
i love customers with covered porches and this driver should have placed it there and noted it on his scanner before scanning the door tag
sure, it also takes time to write on those dumb post-it notes, but it gives the customer a second tracking number if some theif followed us to find a package and keep it for themselves...
i always put the post it note on the door or stuck on the outside of their mailbox since that's where the customer will likely go when they come home...
yea, i probably take longer than some to finish my route, but I rarely have a complaint against me & that's what sub-contractors love to see... because if you file a LEGIT COMPLAINT, the contractor will have to pay out of his / her own pocket to cover it!
like any other company out there,
... your mileage may vary...
based on the driver servicing your area
leave the door tag where they left it last, place a written note next to it informing the driver to go around your house and pick up the signature form
don't call the 800 directly since most of the time it may not reach the driver in time since these are sub contractors
or just leave a more permanent note on your residence stating you want deliveries/ pickups at a certain area of your house
they don't get paid by the hour, and following a pre-set turn-by-turns may not get to your home the same time everyday
rider, it all depends on the driver that services the area...
sometimes addresses are screwed up, but sometimes the driver mis-delivers the box as well... we'll never know
all over the internet fedex this and ups that... all good and bad
more bad than good experiences only though that i've seen so far
don't switch back and forth with changing up addresses...
just pre-sign a form from the internet if it requires an INDIRECT signature
or leave a note with your signature on it as well as where to leave your package
some ground and home delivery warehouses aren't close to each other & the 800 number messages/ emails have to trickle down to the correct warehouse and may not get to them on time to change it up as often as you did...
file a complaint and if it's legit, the contractor that owns the service area will have to pay for that missing package out of his own pocket!
wait... was this a SIGNATURE REQUIRED delivery?
if it needed an INDIRECT signature, meaning you can sign a form or leave a note where you want your package delivered (front door/ back door/ nextdoor neighbor) then that's acceptable to the driver if he / she sees that's it is a "safe neighborhood"
every company has its good and bad workers...
I don't know how UPS works because i'm a FEDEX Home Delivery driver
they get paid by the hour; ground and HD does not
so future deliveries, don't call/ leave a note on your door
yay for tracking numbers! wow... took soo long for them to ship your product without any notices of delays of supply?
YMMV since some are either temporary/ seasonal drivers out there this month...
like i said, file the complaint on their website or the 800 number, you have the door tag tracking number on it
they'll track down that driver and if he's a subcontractor, he'll lose his bonus & possibly pay a fine for it as well for poor service
he is probably a driver for a contractor, you should also call the company and file a complaint; but whatever...
no complaints with a tracking number that you already know = the driver gets to stay on his job
if a company doesn't know the bad drivers from the good ones, how can they weed them out?
so this company sucks; there are others out there with the onset of the internet... go to another supplier!
well, Nash, why didn't you go to a job that pays by the hour? I ditched my contractors and went with the TEMP agency to get paid like Express & UPS
