As for the exchange rate fluctuation these are not the burden of the members but the burden of doing international business. I should not be responsible for DRI's poor business model. They are nothing but a service company there not selling goods they are stealing property and handing out points in lue of REAL compensation and maybe you will be able to use those points to go to Alaska in the winter or Mojave in August... Providing there is any availability left...
I can not say DRI planned to SCAM/FLEECE everyone from the beggining (certainly not ruling it out either), but maybe this ginormous international beast is just too much for SJC to handle. You are not very well informed about TS vs Points trusts. In a real TS you do own a deed equal to 1 or more weeks each week is equal to 1/51 giving 1 week for general maintenance of the unit. What DRI has done is take over the resort through the home owners association and then fleece all owners through special assesments. Our admin fees charged to the HOA are now almost 3 times what they were before DRI. Property values are near zero because nobody wants to buy a TS that will cost 1500.00 for 1 week.
You are right that how they do it now is a stupid way to vacation, but when we bought we had a great deal now DRI has taken away all but the deed and our ability to use at our home resort so now our original purchase has no resell value you can not even give these weeks away.

DRI is only interested in collecting more money to pay for all the
aquisition. Resorts are not properly maintained and DRI points members can not book the time they want so yes if you buy the cr@p DRI is selling then yes you are a sucker and that is what they are looking for in a magic points member. Some one that won't complain about the perminant assesments they charge on top of the maintenance fees.
So get your facts first then post relivant info. If you do not own then why are you even posting in a complaints blog.

I would guess their Bags are packed, new identities and an offshore acct. with all of our excess fees paid to DRI (notheld in St. Maarten's that is for sure). I just wish they would get caught red handed with their grubby paws in the cookie jar (MF, special assessment and other junk fees imposed on clubs and resorts). my guess (IMO) they have bought too many politicians/law makers to get caught at this point. I must give credit where credit is due, they are smart enough to not get caught so far...
The only other consolation is unless they repent from their evil, greedy, wicked ways there will be a special 90 minute presentation they will need to attend in HELL... and that contract has no expiration and "NO" is not an option, much like the presentations they force down members throats.

Yes they (DRI) can and they will charge lots of other fees, but if it make you feel any better I never said yes to Diamond or Sunterror for that matter and at the same resort you were at, I have been a deeded owner for more than 10 years and I too am required to pay the DRI fleecing fees and extortion fees as well.

Cloobeck made in 2007 and beyond (Polo Towers LV NV / Credit Suisse as collateral for the purchase of Sunterror @ 700 million of our holiday dollars down the toilet) oh and don't forget you might get to go on holiday at one of their other run down resorts to boot if you can book one that fits your meager amount of points. There is a good chance you won't be back at your HOME resort EVER, unless you upgrade from 3, 500 points.

It really sucks that American consumers first get screwed over by unscrupulous TS comapanies and Sales scammers, then you have to pay some other scqammer to get out of the scam you got yourself into. (generally these secondary scams are run by the sales scammers that lost their jobs or quit the TS sales scams and most of them have no problem scamming the sames folks all over again.

must be a TS salesman for DRI, you know not of what you speak. First of all DRI purchased the majority of their members (Remember Sunterror 450, 000 members) DRI saw this as a cash cow, blank check and purchased Sunterror for more than twice what Wallstreet valued the near defunct public company. DRI imeadiatly began jacking up MF's 30% to 40% annually. Where in any TS sales scam pitch would they even include this interesting little factoid.
As to your comments that WE should not attend such presentations "just say no", some TS promoters LIE to you to get you to attend. Then there are some folks not unlike myself who did tell DRI and Sunterror "NO" and still DRI is able to extort there outrages fees on our HOA (Home Owners Association just in case your ignorant too) at my home resort of which I get to pay my share to the tune of $1, 400/yr from $595 in 2006.
So Mr. Albatros explain to me how I should have avoided this misery DRI has bestowed up my family. Taking my original TS which I purchased before Cloobeck dreamed up his big scam, voided most of the benefits originally part of my package like use of sister resorts in Tahoe and Kauai in order to try and persuade me to give them my Fee Simple deed for their magic mystery points. I said NO and now my TS has no value because nobody in their right mind would say yes to taking on this ALBATROSS.

DRI is a intelligently planned out SCAM that is fleecing ALL of it's members (some members are just not aware they are being scammed...yet) Those folks that claim how great DRI is are either fooling themselves or they have more money than they need. We too enjoyed our stay at KBC in Maui for many years, but honestly have not been back for 5 years Exchanging through RCI or buying direct on EXPEDIA "when and where I want" for less than I pay DRI for what was once a nice property (pre DRI). DRI has also mismanaged KBC and from the tone of our News Letter they plan to stick it to us next year. I am ready to quit claim my deed to some bum on skid row and let DRI try and collect their fee from his broke a$$.
The only reason I have not given up yet is when I do DRI gets my currently worthless deed and I am sorry those clueless pieces of duff should not profit from their extortion tactics. DRI's bean counters have already factored in to their equation a drop out rate, they will just turn it around to some clueless honeymooners and lie through their teeth like they usually do and they will continue to rape and pillage the members.

I can not speak for everybody at KBC but we have a bunch of folks here stomping mad too. I am sure we will support any effort to extricate these leaches from our resorts. DRI will not release the Owners list even though they by HAWAII LAW DRI must make it available to owners upon written request, by not providing this document they deny the owners LEGAL right to oppose decisions and INDECISION like perhaps not deciding to prevent the excessive water damage and general poor maintenance of our properties, now it is begging to show as in the Point at Poipu.

If you can watch the show RIP OFF BRITAIN some time in November 2011 and lets just see how well STEPHAN J. CLOOBECK PROMOTES AMERICA to the UK. The protest there is very strong with one group DRIP that SJC is now all of a sudden making nice with all of the members that are resigning by the droves, up until a month or so ago DRI had the collection agents ringing the phone daily, but now SJC is "ALLOWING" them to terminate the contract if the y sign a GAG ORDER not to speak bad of him or DRI. Many of these offers went first to some of the folks interviewd for the RIP OFF BRITAIN show. Oh yeah SJC "REP" is extreamlly important to his future aspirations to rip off more TRAVLERS WORLD WIDE (IMO). I hope the RIP OFF BRITAIN story gets some good air time here in the US and shows the true DRI that Stephan J built maybe we can begin to get some traction here in AMERICA.

DRI has ruined our property values for the deeded owners to a point we own HAWAII property that is literally not worth the paper the DEED is written on. In my opinion this is DAMAGES that can easily be quantified using comparable HAWAII real estate. Nobody in their right mind would buy my DEED, but of course I can not lie and con or commit fraud which is what I would need to do to sell my DEEDED interval ownership while years ago I realized this was never an Investment; however I had hoped I would be able to enjoy the beautiful location. NOW it brings on anxiety attacks and late night blogging and no real desire to go visit paradise. I guess I will always have a bad taste in mouth left by SJC when I think of KBC instead of all the wonderful times we spent with friends and family at the resort. Thanks Cloobeck your a real champ.
