I have read through the posts above and would have to say I agree with most of them - AMP is a joke. It is all about the contract and sadly I was stupid enough to sign it without reading through the fne print or taking the time to think it over. But then again, I guess that is part of the sales tactic- the install team is inside your house within 15 minutes of you saying yes to the system. I have since sold my home and my options from AMP were to pay a $200 dollar re-install fee at my new home and continue with very poor monitoring service (I had my phone disconnected a month before the home was sold and I never once received a call from AMP inquiring why the alarm was no longer communicating), find someone else to take over the contract, or buy out the four remaining years on the contract for just over $3000. The persons purchasing my previous house had no interest in the security system and I was not about to pay $200 to have them move the system to my new home. So, I unwired the system myself and it is sitting in a box in my garage while I continue to pay the monthly monitoring fee. Here is the real kicker- the payments are automatically deducted from my checking account and for some reason they did not deduct May's payment. I continue to receive letters threatening late fees / service charges and disruption in my monitoring service (haha!) if I don't bring my account current. I fully admit I was stupid enough to sign the contract but believe me I have learned my lesson. In the meantime, I will tell anyone and everyone I can exactly what I think of this company and I will continue to research legal ways to get out paying them for nothing- literally nothing. AMP- stay far far away from this company.
