First of all, the Lole character that commented is mis-informed. Verizon also lied to you in stating that you were hours over your 30 day test drive. It is by business day, not hour. I would continue your battle and fight them to the end. These people are horrible and ruthless. I have switched to AT&T, and I am amazed at how easy it is to deal with customer service. I used to have to get angry and practically tell Verizon how to do their jobs, and with AT&T, it is an entirely different experience. I called about my bill being 150.00 different then what it was supposed to be, and without hassle or argument, she stated, "I do see where the billing issues are, and will take care of that right away." Not only did she credit the $150.00, but she also did one better and did a $25.00 service apology credit for the inconvenience. This is going above and beyond the call of duty. I will never have Verizon again, and do not recommend it to anyone that is looking for new service.
Once again, Lole is an idiot. He is a Verizon Employee that is one of the many people that are probably sitting in the call center and that you have to deal with when Verizon screws up. He is the kind of person that sits there and says, "I apologize, but there is nothing we can do, I don't see where this is a Verizon mistake." I think that they engrain that in their employee's heads. I have never heard of such outlandish problems. I had Verizon, and they did the same thing to me. I was a primary account holder with just one line of service on my account. I received a nice discount on my service, and decided that since my parents are on a fixed income, to add their lines to my account. They ended up screwing the whole thing up for 3 months, with which one was the primary line, and the charges that they tried to add to the account for the bills. Verizon is the worst, and with the new insurance bill that passed, to hear that they may go under was like getting an early christmas present!
I agree. They are ruthless. Also, please ignore the [censor]ed Verizon employee that posted on here. He is more or less a hopeless call center person that thinks that they know it all. I hate talking to them, and have switched service due to pompous people such as him.
Wow, I think its great that we have Verizon employees that do show their true colors on here. They don't care on the phone, and they act like they are god when it comes to your bill, and when they screw up and you catch them, they still don't want to fix it. I have switched service providers due to the lack of customer respect, and the lies that they tell you on the phone. Why is it that this is the only company that forces you to have a data package on a multimedia CAPABLE phone? AT&T, T-Mobile, Sprint, U.S. Cellular, they all allow you to pick your phone and options. This is why corporate giants that think they have an edge on the market need to be taught a lesson. And as far as acting like a child, ball is in their court. The customer service reps act as if they have to take it out of their check to do a credit. I highly doubt that it is in anyway going to affect you, so man up to the mistake, and do the credit. Or go run and play in your sandbox.
VZW Employee Scott apparently does not know how to read. "Her name is nowhere on the contract or in the records so why was she allowed to do this? And what can I do about it? I’ve been a Verizon Wireless customer since they were GTE and analog. Where’s the loyalty? Does this mean a complete stranger can go into any Verizon store and change anyone’s contract?" And your answer is no, they should not be able to change anything, but far too often, they do not verify. I have called and given information about my account, and they would not help me because of my name, Darcey. They ended up suspending my phone because a suspicious male called in and was trying to commit fraud, and after spending over an hour at the store, they finally had it turned it back on, and stated that it was not Verizon's mistake. 6 months later, I had went into a store and purchased a car charger, and why they ask for your number is unknown to me, but the following month, I had a charge on my account for an additional line. No one knew how it happened, or would do anything about it. I ended up having to call the police, filing a report, and when the receipt was pulled up, there was no signature, and it was ordered over the phone. Way to go Verizon. The best was that it was shipped 4 states away in Ohio. No where near my home address. It took over 6 hours on the phone with Verizon to have them credit the charges and not to charge the ETF. Really? Are they that dumb to think that I would randomly send a phone to an unknown person? Thanks!
I am going to break it down for you:
Have you ever went into a Verizon store, and looked at all the different so-called nice phones that they offer? And have you noticed that you can pick one up and without any real knowledge on that phone, you can use it just like the other 6 next to it? They install their own software and cripple a phones' true operation. Even their smartphones that they offer, are horrible crippled cousins of the far superior ones of say AT&T, U.S. Cellular, or even the once upon a time, Alltel. They only want you to use what they offer, and if you don't like it, they say tough, then switch, but we have the best service. So many lies spill out of this company when I see their adds about their coverage. I had the Blackberry Tour, and was tired of lies. I switched to AT&T, paid the ETF and now love what the Blackberry Bold can do, that the Tour never will be able to. My advice, find a company that doesn't put their own dummy programming on and that when you use the phone, it is the way it was built.
Don't take it. I am 100% against this horrible company. They do not care about you, and once they lock you in, they figure, "HEHEHE got another sucker." If they don't want to give you a brand new phone, why not do a refurbished phone, and send your old one into the supposedly oh so skilled technicians that they have and they can refurbish yours? I don't understand why people put up with them, and never will. I will never again have their service.
In regards to the snotty little VZW employee, let's take a look at what they really do. They do not disconnect your service when you request that it be disconnected. This was in fact stated by Cheryl, from VZW so that they can hit you with any other charges that come through, they simply suspend your service. When they say that you only pay for the service that you use, this is in fact false. They will continue to bill you until the cycle is complete. Here is how you break it down accurately:
Depending on when you start your plan, you take your total minutes, say 700, and divide that by 30, and then again, by 2. On average, that is about 11 minutes per day. At what you had stated, it sounds as if you started your plan about 10 days before their mass billing cycle, which would in fact give you a pro-rated amount of minutes, totalling 100 minutes. However, since it is a worry-free guarantee, they have the ability to add minutes to your plan as "overage" minutes to subsidize this. Also, if they want to get technical, you can take the amount of the actual service, say 79.99, and divide that by 30. This will give you an amount of 2.66 per day. At 4 days, this would total $10.67. Since they are to credit activation fees, and as a normal common courtesy, would do the overage minutes to give you a little extra time to try the phone out, your bill should have been no more then $50.00.
Once again, VZW vultures strike again. Isn't it nice knowing that you have to put up with sub-standard equipment and horrible customer service if you stay with them for 2 years?
Who has ever heard of being charged to check your own voicemail you VZW ingrates? Seriously, what other company does that? And where can you put these numbers at that you can block? Please make sure to tell people about this when they sign up.
If they consider it termination, then why do they continue billing until the end of the cycle? Another VZW [censored] post that wants to look smart, but then started typing.
Obviously if anything, he could work at Verizon and take your job Mike, you are a worthless rep that doesn't know what customer service is if it hit you in the face.
Then why would Verizon put their name on it if they didn't want to accept responsibility?
If you want good ringtones, you can always go to phonezoo, they have free ringtones that are sent directly to your phone in the form of a picture message.
Just an FYI, I had the same thing happen with a voyager. I owned the phone for 72 hours, and the screen did this.
