As you will see from the many posters, Scribd has some way of signing up people's cards for auto-billing even when they have no idea what the service is. The same is true for me. They will deny it in a response below, but they are liars. I'm pretty sure I would know if I registered for their service. I do not even listen to audio books. I have asked my credit card company for a chargeback based on fraudulent charges.
