I’ve had the same problem with our Maytag French fridge freezer since I got it home. Contacting the retailer and Maytag resulted in exactly nothing. The ice maker (occasional ice maker) makes ice when it feels like it. Then it makes no ice for days. Or weeks. Then there’s a wonderful sound of the solenoid allowing water into the ice maker and we know we can have a gin and tonic in a few hours. We’ve had it for a year and recently, for the first time, the ice maker actually produced enough ice for more than two drinks - it did this every day for five days. That was two weeks ago. It hasn’t made ice since. The irony is that I bought the Maytag specifically for the ice-making function as it was to replace our fourteen-year-old Samsung that produced at least a champagne bucketful of ice per day and cost a fraction of the price.
