I had my AC unit broken yesterday (June 7, 2018). I submitted a claim. They scheduled a contractor for next Wednesday (6 days later). I have children and pets at home. The temperature in South Texas is above 100 degrees. It's a torture. They provided a choice of finding my own contractor and will reimburse the cost within 30 days. I searched the internet, found a local contractor and got it fixed. The local contractor called the CHW to get pre-authorization. CHS took more than an hour with the contractor asking photos, AC unit details, the cause of failures. cost details etc. They put on hold several times for lots of minutes. I asked the contractor to fix it and the CHS declined the claim. I'm taking up the matter to Federal agencies and BBB. If anyone of you underwent the same torture with CHS, don't shy away and please file complaints with FTC, Attorney offices of state, county and city governments. I'm sure the government agencies will work to protect us (consumers) with these kinds of disgraced companies cheating their customers.
