I purchased a Bauhaus sofa from Boston Interiors. After less than 2 years and while still under warranty we noticed that the frame was completely falling apart under the sofa, going through the fabric covering the sofa. After many months back and forth, Bahaus sent someone to inspect the sofa. The individual that came said the sofa had been defective since purchase and was not properly stapled. Bauhaus resolution was that at our own cost we could ship the sofa back to North Carolina for a free repair. The cost of shipping the sofa back exceeds the price of the piece itself. Boston Interiors stated that if we transported the piece across state they would repair it. Still a major inconvenience on the part of the consumer after paying for a defective sofa. I have never heard of such an outrageous policy. After talking to my friends heard of instances with other furniture companies including Pottery Barn, Ethan Allen and Ballard Designs where the product was replaced free of charge. Will never buy at Boston Interiors again- will never buy Bauhaus again
