Most collection agencies are parasites. They don't care if you owe the money or not. They are not in the business to help , no matter what they say. If they would research the problem before they call they would find out that not all bills are legitimate. They just assume they are correct. You have no recourse for someone who turns in an illegitimate bill.
Most debt collectors are parasites. They don't care if you owe the debt or not. They will lie to get your money because they are paid on commission and no money means no commission. If they don't collect money they get fired. The company they work for does not care whether they lied or not because they get paid for the lie also.
They have usury rates that they apply to debts, which you don't have to pay , but they put it on your credit report without investigation.
GC Services is one of the largest debt collection companies.
I just had a call from these parasites. The caller id comes up and says Ohio, State of like it is a call from state government. When I ask them about it, they say they have no idea why it comes up that way. I have reported them to the State of OH for using this .
I will report them to my state also.
When I asked them for the pertinent information on the account , they wouldn't tell me.
I will fight with them and win. So I hope they are reading this.
Well, your first mistake is working for GC Services. The law says it is unlawful to lie to people on the phone. So you get no sympathy here. The GC Services parasite's just threatened to sue me on the phone for a bill I don't owe. I have a file about an inch thick of letters I have sent to other agencies offering to satisfy the debt, no agency would settle.
So I am hoping they do sue me because I have the information I have. But while I am there I will report the misrepresenting phone calls I got from them, which are all documented.
I would also be happy to get affadavits from all who have complaints about this agency. I will enter them into evidence in court as character references.
I have been trying to take care of this for a long time.
