I had Verizon FIOS installed. The installation was incompetent, I had to have the service terminated. I spent about three weeks getting the equipment back to Verizon. You get absolutely no support from Verizon. It is impossible to contact them for help.

I strongly suggest that anyone who is considering getting FIOS, research on line for complaints in your area, call the BBB or access the BBB site on line to see what you are getting into. You have a 30 day trial period, after which there is an early termination fee.

Remember, if you have problems, with Verizon, you can get help with your State Attorney General or PUC.

I made the horrible mistake of getting FIOS installed in my home in Pittsburgh, PA. The installation was incompetent, there was no follow up service, impossible to get in contact with customer service. Took hours even to find out where to send a certified letter to cancel the service. The most horrible company to deal with in my lifetime. It appears to me that the company is totally not customer oriented, has incompetent management, totally disorganized and is clueless as to what quality assurance means. If you doubt me, try calling the idiots at Verizon for anything. But, prepare yourself to spend hours and accomplishing nothing. In my case, I had to file a formal complaint with the PUC of PA and the Attorney General of PA. I encourage others to do likewise when they have problems with the company, so that they are aware of the abuse that the public is subject to.

I had major problems myself with Verizon in Pittsburgh, PA.

Before anyone orders Verizon, do research, call the BBB for reference information. Better yet, get FIOS literature and try to reach someone other than the people who take the order.

Keep in mind, you can file a formal complaint against Verizon with your State Attorney General.
