My family has put up with their carp now for almost a year now. We only have a couple of payments left. When Aaron's emplyoee filed a police report on me, the Sheriff came out, and told us that No business came come that early 9:00am is reasonable. The report went no where. After that incident with Aaron's They do not come to our house at all. The Sheriff said if they come to our house and threaten us to call them right away. He said if we make our payment they cannot demand the tv back. We called that day and made the tv payment after it was made the manage came back on the phone, said for us to give the tv back! They run illegal practices. yes we have been late a few more times, but not once has anyone came back to our house! The sheriff told us he was going to have a talk with them. He must have because we dont hear from them anymore! By the way. Don't ever let them in your house ever!. They have no rights to come into your house. Also its doesnt matter if they want it back. If you owe them and even can't pay for it, it turns into a civil law suit, and they have to go the court proceedure for repossion. Do not let them intimidate you. If they come knocking dont answer the door. Or if you do tell them to leave they are treesspassing. If they threaten to call the Sheriff, let them. The sheriff will tell them to go through the court. the Sheriff has no jusrisdiction in forcing you to give it back. Does not matter what the paper says that you signed, they still have to follow the law. The only thing the Sheriff can do when called is preserve the peace. Thats all. California laws here.
Call the bank and tell them you did not authorize the charge, Bank of America I know will give you that credit back, pending their investigation of it. In the mean time. Tell the bank you want to cancell that card, and they will issue you a new card. Do not give Aaron's the new card info until you make that payment over the phone. Then they can only charge when you call. If they keep your card info and charge it with out you calling then you and legal standing.

ONE CATCH TO IT: After you file the complaint, they will give you the name and number of the Regional Manager for the store you are complaining about. The regional manager is more than likely the "Owner" who will not return your calls, and nothing will be done about your complaint. I found this out twice, two differnt stores! I tihnk will all these complaints from all us of here we should look into filing a CLASS ACTION LAWSUIT!
I don't know what state your in, but in California, if you quit your job, your employer has 72 hours to give you your check. If your fired, they have to give it to you on the spot!
I have filed two complaints with Aaron's Corp headquarters/ which nothing ever happens! We purchased a 62" tv in one town here about 30 mins away. On my wife B'day she was coming to my work to have lunch with me, I told her to go into Aaron's to get a computer for her b'day.This Aaron's is 30 miles the opposite of the other one we have an account with, closer to where I work. she went in filled out the contract, the manager signed it, she paid with her credit card. She was happy. The manager told her to she couldnt take it with her, they would deliver it to our house the following Monday. The whole day goes by nicely, They when I was taking my wife out to dinner, that Aaron's called her told her, they would not service the contract. We were shocked and asked why, the manager said she had to write a letter to her and send it in, that was the only way she could tell her. My wife then said how about the downpayment she made. The manager told my wife she had to come in to get it back. So the next day my wife drove all the way back to Aaron's, the manager said she could not give her any money, said my wife had to call her bank to get the reversal! What a crock! My wife called the bank, her bank told her its Aaron's credit card processor who does the reversal! What kind of manager do they have that doesnt know this? They hire highschool rejects! It took 2 weeks for that credit to show up! We still do not know why they refused to service it. They should have decided that before they took her money! CROOKS!
