All associates MUST ask for the phone number to make sure Rewards members earn their points. If it is discovered that a customer is not a member via this question, customers are told the benefits of the free program. Sears does not sell any personal information gathered from this process.
Sooo, what is the problem? Brick and mortar stores can't be expected to match prices of online only retailers who only pay for a small web team, warehousing and shipping. Sears provides you with experts on products as well as an actual product to touch and look at in person. If you use a sales person to gather your info, then buy online, not only is that unethical treatment of that person who took the time to help you, you are just a bad person.
There is no way for a sales ASSOCIATE (not clerk) to make it so that those mailers do not go out. If you had purchased a protection plan for the grill, which you undoubtedly did not, you would not have received the mailer. It was offering you a second chance to ### a protection plan. If you want a purchase that big to be a surprise, have it delivered to another address, maybe a friend or relative. You should know better and this type of thing has happens with every retailer. Buck up and be more careful with the details next time.
Why do you people cry about how long you've had a sears credit card when you have a problem like that makes a difference? The store you had the issue with should have replaced the item or serviced it for free. You simply didn't ask the right questions and the associates at the store did not properly guide you to do so. Delivery fees at any retailer are non-refundable since little or no big box retailers operate their own delivery company. The outside delivery service must be paid for the work they did. The store should have taken the hit of the $60 in the form of a price adjustment on your purchase. I agree your purchase was not handled properly by the store, but your expectations about delivery are a bit off as well.
So the water to the unit was turned off, yet it still leaked water somehow. You didn't question this when the tech was out? Use some logic people! Seems obvious to me that THE WATER WAS NOT OFF! DO you not have some basic sense or knowledge of your own home on how to turn off the water to specific rooms or fixtures? I'm amazed at the lack of common sense from the average consumer.
