I had a terrible experience with Prime Autos Calgary (primeautos.ca). I purchased a car from Hank for $12,000.00 and later found out that the car had no catalytic converter. Hank lied to me and the owner Mike about it. I was shocked to learn that it is illegal to sell a car in Alberta without a converter. I reported this to the Department of Transportation.

I strongly advise anyone looking to buy a used car to stay away from this dealership. They should have installed a converter at their cost. It is not fair that they got $12,000.00 from me and did not provide a car that was legal to drive. I am very disappointed with the service I received from Prime Autos Calgary.

I hope that the owner, Mike, takes responsibility for this mistake and installs a catalytic converter in my car at their cost. Hank should have been reprimanded for this huge mistake. It is unacceptable to sell a car without a converter and then lie about it.

This dealership is a decent place to find a car that won't break the bank. We just got our car, so I can't say for sure how it will hold up in the long run, but so far it's been running great. However, the way we were treated by the staff was absolutely terrible. We were coming from out of town, so I spoke with the owner on the phone the day before to make sure everything would go smoothly. He told me to give them a call when we were leaving town, and someone would be ready for us when we arrived, even if it was after hours. Unfortunately, there was a big storm and we ended up getting there a half hour later than planned. We called to let them know we would be late, but when we got to the dealership, the manager told us he wouldn't be there and that a salesperson would help us instead.

The salesperson who helped us was incredibly rude. If they didn't have the car we wanted, I would have walked out right then and there. He yelled at us, saying that they close at 6pm and he has a family and things he wants to do. I was so shocked that I couldn't even explain that I had spoken with the owner on the phone about the later time. Clearly, there is a severe lack of communication between the staff members at this dealership. The salesperson grumbled when we asked to take the car for a test drive, but luckily everything was great on the test drive. When we returned to the dealership, the salesperson continued to be very rude. We had some questions, and he used derogatory language and a harsh tone when answering.

To make matters worse, the paperwork was sloppy, which caused significant issues when we tried to register the car. And to top it all off, the gas tank was left empty. The owner eventually showed up and thanked us for our business, but then asked us to leave a 5-star review. I won't be recommending this dealership to my friends, and I absolutely will not be giving them a 5-star review. It was nice that the car came with a 6-month powertrain warranty, but because of the sloppy paperwork process and horrible customer service, I am highly doubtful that it will be helpful if we ever need to use it. I'm only giving this dealership 2 stars because they happened to have a good car for a fair price on their lot, and so far it seems to be working out.
