My son attended the Los Angeles edition of this nationwide youth tackle football camp. The camp was disorganized, poorly run, and featured shoddy equipment. Contrary to the company website's promises, players were not grouped by size, weight and experience. New players were pitted against veterans up to twice their size. The result was injuries and disappointment. Complaints to the company president, Mr. Rick Whittier, went ignored. Avoid this expensive mistake!

My son has gone to O-D camps three years in a row, as well as up my 20 of his friends each year. We are big fans and feel it is a great investment for the level of coaching he gets, but this is admittedly not for kids who are not 100% sold out for football. In the real football world, you often play against kids much bigger than you even at the same age, so you can expect the same at camp. There are 2-3 sessions every day and it will wear out the most prepared athlete, BUT it is for hard core football players. If your son is only half in, you need to keep him away or he may very well get injured. No coddling here...not for everyone. Just one football mom's opinion.
