This church encourages people to give liberally of their finances and even goes so far as to make the members and non-members of the congregation feel guilty for not giving, even if they don't have anything to give, by saying things like, "Don't be stingy, " or "I don't see everyone giving." I went with a friend of mine to speak with a church representative about getting some money back that we'd given under the compulsion of the preachers/speakers that were at a conference called Reviving the Fire, and was told that there is a benevolence fund that is only available at the beginning of the year and on top of that, we were asked about whether we were members or not and then asked how long we'd been members. When we said we had only been members for 1 month, the woman told us that the benevolence fund was for those who had been members for years and were faithful tithers. We are being evicted from our apartment because of the sacrificial giving that was guarenteed to be multiplied by God. And to clear things up a bit more, we weren't looking for a benevolence fund, we want our money back, which was over $1400, that we gave in a 3 week period of time.

I've been a member of New Spirit Revival Center for years and I can a sure you the words quoted in the complaint have never been spoken and we have never been "pressured" to give or tithe. The Word is spoken and either you receive or you don't, give or you don't, it's that simple. It's unfortunate that JoshuaAbril12283 was being evicted but it's not from your giving to God or the church that you are being evicted, it is from lack of faith in the Word of God and the enemy that wants to steal, kill, and destroy EVERY believer. I've never heard of anyone ever asking for a refund of their charitable giving but I suppose it happens. And speaking in a natural sense, the eviction could be from improper stewardship of your finances, idk. When you give you are supposed to give cheerfully! Who wants a gift that you are hesitant to give in the first place? I imagine God doesn't want that gift either. When you give you are supposed to give with faith AND with a purpose! EXPECT the Lord to return blessings and favor to you for your offering! Tithe and the Lord says He will rebuke the devourer for you! Your giving is not in vain because it is to God you are giving and not man.

I am sorry that you got caught up in their schemes. GOD is still good and I believe He wants us to be kind and giving. That being said, please don't let this tarnish your faith and don't ever let yourself feel pressured by one of these salesmen again. One day these charlatains will face GOD and they will answer for the games that they have played. They are not so special or so annointed they will get off, they are playing games and they will not get off.
