STAY AWAY! To make a long story short for those who one to get right to the point, this is a door to door sales job selling Verizon FIOS to random businesses. 100% commission job.

After attending a recent career fair at Monclair State University, both a collegue and myself received phone calls to come in for an interview with this marketing company called "Neilson Enterprises" located in Lyndhurst, NJ. Like any serious job seeker, going into an interview ill-prepared was the last thing on my mind. However, after attempting to research the company, I found basically zero results. This company is "barley google-able". I managed to find the company website only after typing in the city and state next to the name. This website consists of what seems to me as "random corporate office pictures" downloaded from the internet. There is basically no information on the company. The website talks about working with Fortune 100 and 500 clients (which turn out to just be Verizon Wireless, and no, do not get excited by the large brand name, it's all bs) (They also told me they have SO many offers from large clients that they simply do not have the man-power to handle them all and that is why they are hiring).

Additional searches about the company left me staring at a blank screen. I managed to find more information on the CEO/Founder's undergraduate athletic career than the actual company. It was later on that i discovered that the company is less than a year old.

The first of three rounds of interviews also seemed a bit "sketchy". I showed up for my appointment and waited in a room with about 7 or 8 other individuals. It took about an hour for me to finaly get interviewed. It was relatively quick (less than 10 min) and they gave me a brief but vague description of the company, the "you can be your own boss" speech, and went over my background.

I got called back for a second interview. I was excited until my colleague informed me that is was complete bs and it was a door to door sales job (He had his second round interview a few days prior to mine). I was upset but decided to still show up to the second round. I again waited in a room with about 7 or 8 individuals (obviously they are mass interviewing, if you couldn't already tell by the insane amount of job adds they already post on every career website).

I was immedietly put into a vehicle with an "account manager" (the position they are hiring for regardless of their multiple job add descriptions). I was to "shadow" this person for the ENTIRE work day to see what they did. As we were driving, my "mentor" saw a small strip mall with various businesses such as a pizza place, law firm, accounting firm, and a nail salon, for example. We pulled over and walked in each place and proceeded to try and SELL them Verizon FIOS.

We did this the ENTIRE day. I was extemely dissapointed. This was an all commission SALES job. They told me about all the money I could make, I could be my own boss, I could open my own office in a year and a half etc. Something tells me I was not the only person to turn them down that day.

Now if SALES is YOUR thing, then I recommend this company for you. Some people out there are great at sales. Personally I like the stability of a job with a salary, benefits etc. so this job was not for me. I also did not like that fact that the clients (aka random businesses you spot driving along the side of the road) treated us like traveling used-car salesman.

Neilson sent me $2000 check to my email. I don’t have bank account so my friend deposited this check to his account. It was the worst day of my life. The check was invalid and finally it bounced. Now I owe money to my friend but I don’t have $2000!

OMG! Thank you so much people for the information. I received a phone call for the "Account Manager" position interview for today. I was trying to google the reviews, but its like nothing about Allure Marketing except this post. I am just NOT showing up. I completely agree with UD. There must me a way to report this kind of companies.

This company is now known as ALLURE MARKETING. They do the exact same thing as before, just a new name. Beware!

I agree %100 with what the OP and the majority of other posters have stated here.
I am watching someone very near and dear be taken by these ### and it is SO frustrating!
Although, the company now goes by the name of ALLURE MARKETING, I am positive they are one in the same. A previous poster has even mentioned that they were connected.
When I first came across this review I felt both saddened and relieved.
I was relieved to know that I was NOT crazy and this is a huge SCAM bud deeply, deeply saddened to know that someone I care for is being taken.
This is a person that had been out of work for a long period of time (due to no fault of their own), they have a very strong work ethic and have been broke for so long that they were willing to do any type of work to prove they could still stand on their own.
I know this is not your typical recruit for these jerks. But this is how it went in my case.
I feel like ( and esp. After reading your review and comments, Ty posters, ) that they swooped down on him like an eagle and grabbed him up with their talons.
All off the "lingo" that has been posted, I have heard him mention. His first week there they were telling him he had the potential to become a manager, by the second week they were telling him he could have his own office in a year in a half.
I knew something was wrong!
He is not old. He is still young. He's very smart, great with numbers and a people person.
The problem, I think, is that he literally had nothing for over 10yrs and now they are offering him the moon. Who wouldn't want to believe that?
He's been there for well over a month now. He's made some sales and they have yet to pay him. They keep "pushing" the date back. He has to borrow money for the bus to get to a job that doesn't pay him!
I'm very sorry to rant.
But I was so very happy to find this thread.
I sincearly hope one of you may be able to at least drop a line, maybe give me a pointer or two.
I'm pretty sure he knows he's being scammed, and how could I bring it up and stomp all over his heart?
Is there ANY WAY we can report this company?
Thanks in advance!
UD

I agree there's nothing wrong about door to door sales. But this company has no values in treating their employees well. As has been said they'll lure you in with sugar coated words and compliment you on everything but it's all for their own benefits so that they can make money off of you. They offer no benefits at all and expect you to work like a dog without paying. They'll give all these pep talks and what not to motivate you but that's all bs. Only the manager's favorites and people who are good at scamming can move ahead in this company.

LOOK OUT FOR THESE JOB POSTINGS ON CRAIGSLIST CAREER BUILDER OR GOOGLE;

Brand ambassador, Management opportunity, entry level opportunity with room forgrowth, we offer training, Entry level sales and marketing

#1 ANYONE CAN DO THIS PLEASE DO NOT SPEND SO LONG IN COLLEGE IF THIS IS WHAT YOU WANT TO DO ITS NOT WORTH THE DEPT YOU CAN DO THIS RIGHT OUT OF GRAMMAR SCHOOL,

#2 ITS ALLL A SCANDAL, merely a scheme to get struggling innocent people to get on their slave ship with out a chance of ever getting promoted to management. Even it they do, I witnessed two very intelligent people leave the umbrella after getting promoted to management And many managers fail and go on a "power retrain" which means their business failed and they have to start all over again.

ANSWER THESE ADDS AND YOU WILL FIND YOUR SELF IN A SMALL OFFICE WITH 3 other managers doing the same thing and FIGHTING for competition.

ANSWER THESE ADDS AND YOU WILL FIND YOUR SELF IN RODEOS AND MEETINGS WITH OTHER MANAGERS THAT HAS INTERVIEWED ME AND SWORE THEY HAD NO RELATIONS WITH THESE OTHER COMPANIES. They all get wasted together weekdays and week nights.

Upon being hired this is what will happen:

you will work 100 percent commission sales with NO paid training no benefits

you won't start getting paid until after a month (IF YOU EVER GET PAID.. According to some of my past co workers)

you will work as an independent contractor you will have to pay taxes to the government at the end of the year.

you will driver other people to their canvassing areas and not get compensated for gas

You will enteract with a lot of very ignorant and arrogant people on a regular basis.

STAY AWAY FROM KALA NEILSON! SHE IS THE ABSOLUTE WORST IN THE GAME! SHE IS A LIE AND A CROOK, SHE DOES NOT CARE ABOUT YOU! I had a great paycheck one week and she became my best pal and even brought me a drink one night. Then several weeks went by and I experienced a slump and it was like working for the devil. She will use you to work and make her business look good while you stuggle to make ends meet personally.

THE COMPANY CLAIMS A SALARY OF 700-1000 per week for beginers. In a room of 40-50 people (which. Clearly breaks all nj fire and safety codes) maybe one or two experience people will make that.

AVOID THE 1st interview DO NOT GO TO THE SECOND INTERVIEW.

YOU ARE A CUSTOMER SHOPPING FOR OPORTUNITY ONCE YOU GET SUCKED INTO NEILSON ENTERPRISES OR ITS "Organisational peers" YOUVE BECOME THEIR PRODUCT AND THEY WILL USE YOU TO KEEP THE CICLE GOING

ITS A SCAM I USE TO WORK FOR THEM
THEY PRAY ON YOUNG COLEGE FOLKS IMAGINE 100 percent commission for a product most people don't want or hate because they have been scammed by previous reps.
NO HEALTH BENEFITS/401k I've asked for almost a year even after hitting the requirement and was given the run around.
YOU WORK ON 1099 you have to pay taxs to the government. Your work for your self yet they force you to report to their offices when they want too and chant and sing and make obnoxious crazy noise.
NO PAYMENT FOR GAS EVEN OF YOU DIDNT MAKE ANY SALES to bad that isn't there problem.
MOST PEOPLE MAKE LESS THEN 350 dollars per week
Nielsen ENTERPRISES IS A LIE!
I left the company after a manager who got promoted left and everyone bashed her for leaving although months before every praised and talked about her being great.
Unless you love to deceit and cheat people STAY AWAY

I THINK YOUR ALL WAITING YOUR TIME WRITING ON THERESE BLOG SITE, IS THERE ANYTHING WRONG WITH DOOR TO DOOR? WHO FILLED YOUR HEADS WITH THE NONSENSE THAT IT IS NOT A REAL JOB? jo_sh for a 34 year old you are still working for someone else at your "real" job and you go on complaint boards and rant on your free time and obviously if they are scams would they be here still? they have been around for over 50 years (HAVE YOUR HEARD OF DEATH OF A SALESMEN lol). which person with the right mindset would listen to your nonsense Jo_sh. these are opportunities for people who someday want to own there own companies with every win there comes a price, and your not willing to pay or cant afford to pay with work ethic then move on and do something else. the rants on here are just as typical as the ones for target or tmobile or macys. They are not going to effect anyone directly.

Jo_sh...I am a 34 year old Marketing, Consulting, and Sales professional who had the displeasure of working for a company like this called "IS-G Marketing". Their practices are HIGHLY questionable, dishonest, and deceiving. They prey on young people with grand (empty) promises. Any real company that is hiring does NOT have 10 interviews scheduled at the same time and does NOT dodge reasonable questions. However, don't take my word for it...give it a shot and if you like it...god bless!

Jo_sh...I am a 34 year old Consulting professional who (embarrassingly) worked for a company like this in 2008. They went by the name of IS-G Marketing out of Lodi. It is a complete bait and switch and their practices are HIGHLY questionable. In fact, a year later after I secured a real job I was in the area and out of curiosity stopped in to see how they were doing. It was like a scene out of Boiler Room...as if they were never there. They pray on young people and fill their heads with the idea of "limitless potential" when the fact is they work you like a slave, pay you nothing, and get rich by taking a large cut of whatever you can manage to bring in. Any company that has a hiring process like this clearly has a high turnover...hence the need to constantly "interview" and slam any able bodied person in as soon as possible.

I agree with the reviewer-AVOID! I was also at the March Career Fair at MSU. I was excited when they had contacted me back. I arrived for the interview half an hour early and was not taken until over half hour after the interview was suppose to take place. The waiting room was packed with people. I was very disappointed that the interview only lasted 10 minutes and that I even wasted my time going. Thankfully, I am glad I was not chosen for the second interview after learning what Neilson Enterprises is also like. Additionally, it's a bit fishy how they share the same suite and receptionist with another new company, Allure Marketing. It would have been nice if they were more honest about the position before people go on the second interview. Also, I did not like the fact that the music playing was excessively loud while I waited for my interview.

Why is this a scam again? I looked up the company name it seemed pretty legit to me they Even have a linked it. And if the owner is open enough to have their personal info available to the public is it still a scam? I think your just bitter. Please don't waste my time with your useless review. I'm looking for someone who has had real work experience there. it seems that you have only interviewed with them your bias point of view did not help at all.
