Without realizing it, I used NC Quickpass toll lanes. I received an invoice in the mail for $4.16 and paid it using Wells Fargo bill pay. I don't know if they had difficulty applying the payment to my invoice, but I have since received another invoice for $12 that I just paid via check. It's a complete racket and I should not have to pay these additional charges. I'm braced for yet another invoice from them - absolute crooks!
$6 fee for a $4.20 bill. I literally jumped on the express way for a second & hopped off once I realized what lane I was in. This is literally highway robbery.
Paid a bill for 2.54 by online bill pay check. My bank shows they received the check by the due date which was 12/19. The check didn't clear until 21 days later on 1/09/23. Then they sent me a new bill today for $8.54 for the original amount plus a 6.00 processing fee. The invoice date on the new bill is 12/24 so it took them 21 days to get it to me, and it shows a due date in just one week. These crooks are crazy if they think I am paying them twice plus a processing fee. I would say they are incompetent but there are plenty of news articles out there about this scam and it is intentional.
Had a bill in pay by mail for 0.65 cents. Didn't even receive the bill in the mail until well after 30 days of driving the toll, so got $6 late fee tacked on. Nice little system they have going!
They are an absolute racket! Charging 500-600% in late fees, for example.
I TOTALLY AGREE! I PAID $40.52 for a 75 cents bill. Crooks being Crooks!
