MOHELA review: I have not received a full refund of the payments I made on my student loans AFTER the date of my student loan forgiveness.

My student loans were forgiven 8/10/2015, and I received notification of that from MOHELA. I received a partial refund 9/14/2023, yet I am still waiting for the remainder of the refund that totals almost $8,000.00. I have called MOHELA NUMEROUS times and have been told something different every time I have called them. I have been told to "just wait a little while longer", I have been told there is research being done internally by MOHELA about the remaining portion, I have been told the Department of Education is responsible for issuing the remaining refund, etc...etc...I cannot begin to tell you how many HOURS I have been on hold on my phone waiting to speak with someone. I waited almost 2 hours today to speak to someone, and no one ever answered my call. I have checked and double checked all of the information I have received, and it says I should receive a full refund for payments I made after the date of my loan forgiveness within 2 months (although it can vary), and STILL have no clue as to when I will receive the remaining portion of the refund I am supposed to receive. I am BEYOND grateful for the forgiveness of my loans, BUT it has been a nightmare trying to talk to someone who truly knows what is going on. WHAT A COMPLETE MESS!
