On the 2nd November I had £69.75 taken from my account by merrywood loans. I have never authorised this transaction and having a nightmare trying to claim the money back. I have never experienced such discusting customer serivce in my life. The lady (idiot) who answered the phone told me she didnt care about my opinon on the customer service and told me to go away. I have now reported them to the financial ombudsman who is taking the appropriate action. This is very upseeting as I have a 1year old boy who needs milk and nappies. This has left me in a difficult situation.

FILTHY THIEVING SCANDALOUS ROTTEN PARASITES this company is shocking. they decided to take a "69.95" for some sort of admin fee, obviously i had never heard of them, authorized or had any dealings with this company. I informed my bank who told me to call them and request a refund and was told it will be done by JASMINE FROM MERRYWOOD LOANS and I was also told my refund will arrive within 3-4 working days from that date, luckily i had the phone call recorded. 4 days comes and goes 10 days comes and goes and you can imagine the rest. When i tried the passive approach in regards to asking for my own money to be returned I was labelled a "loser, timewaster, funny surname(UK Born with a African background) Ironically i was also told by these animals that im lying about not having my refund and in someway trying to steal from them because of people with "funny name" do this daily - WORD FOR WORD SAID. I was also told that i should have expected this along with the typical insults that these type of people use, I have every phone call recorded and yet they refused to provide me with any information in regards to the refund, they refused to further provide any information about what they stole. Ive informed the Bank about this and was told to contact the financial ombudsmen and trading standards to recover my loan fee when no money was returned within the set amount of days on their own website. i dont know what my options are. thank you.

I was looking for a payday loan online and came across merrywood loans. I put my details in then got an email stating "thanks for your payment". On the website the dont inform you that they're taking money from you at all. I then proceeded to call them and they said they would refund my money wishing 3-5 working days, that passed and still I didn't get my £69.95 back. I called them again in which they said their system was down, I stated I had been waiting more than two weeks for my money and the rude woman who said her name was Danielle put the phone down on me. I called back and she said "don't you have anything better to do, you obviously don't have a job" this woman was incredibly rude and definitely not professional at all s2he proceeded to say "you're not getting anything back" and again put the phone down on me I phone 4 days later and they said my payment is being processed but is in a queue. I have know realised 2 weeks later they have taken a SECOND £69.95 out of my account! Does anyone know how I can stop them from doing this? I am losing money that is needed for bills. Absolute scam of a company who I will harass until my money is refunded.

I have been waiting for a refund of the £69.95 since December 2017. I have called again in May 2024 and have been waiting 3 weeks for a refund. I called again today 23/05/14 and the rude ignorant little girl on the phone raised her voice and said I am not discussing this with you any further. I said wow your customer service skills are amazing I want to talk to your manager and she said NO I don't really care, and hung up the phone. I am outrages that this has happened. There is no way of getting in contact with a manger. It's a joke because I hadn't even applied for a loan in the first place someone had used my details. Stay away from this company!

Please can everyone report this scam of a company to the financial ombudsmen and watchdog. If they get enough complaints then we have a better chance of some action being taken against this company. And maybe Danielle/Amy/hazel/Lauren or whatever she calls herself will soon be done for fraud or be out of a job, doubt she will ever get another job in customer services! This company and that rude cow need taking down!

Today I was looking for the best payday loan, when I got to this loan website, filled all the spaces, including my bank and card details, with a guarantee that no one would take any money at this occasion and waited for their answer, meanwhile I checked my bank account when amazingly I found out that they took from me without my consent £69.95! Hey I was trying to get a loan because I need the money, now how am I going to manage myself? What can I do?

Ive been having trouble since february 2017 tryin to get my refund back of £69.97, they send me emails saying it will be back in my account on the 4th apriL 2017, and its not i then phone up and they tell me its in on the 11th april and its not i phone them up and now tell me its early next week, i think this is disguisting as they will soon take money out of your account when you dont agree to it, and waiting nearly 2 months now on getting my money back i will not stop and will take this further via in the paper, get my solicter involved .

This company is a joke, I applied for a wonga loan and somehow they got hold of my card details and took £69.95 from my account without my authorization, I went through the correct procedure to be issued my refund which they told me by email they would return within 30 days. This was in December 2017, it is now May and still no refund. I've called them around 10/15 times over the last 6 months, speaking perfectly nicely to them and being told that I will receive it by next week, the refund's been put through to a senior manager to deal with. But still nothing. I rang yesterday and asked about it again, and the woman I spoke to was out of order, I demanded my money back and she said "It is not my problem" and after I said well you are now officially stealing from me she said "What do you want me to do, get a magic crystal ball and magic your money back" then she hung up. I almost laughed it was so ridiculous. Except I am a student and £70 goes a long way! This company needs to give people their hard earned money back and be shut down all together.

this company took £70 out of my bank account on the 15th of november, i know that i never applied to there company EVER.i had £39 taken out from there sister company orchard loans but i luckily managed to get that one stopped before they took it out as i didnt have enough money in my account from 5 other loan companys doing the same thing(i have been refunded from each of these companys).
i have no idea how so many companys managed to get my details, i admit that i stupidly applied to 1(i cant remember which company it was but i do know it was not merrywood) so the only possible explanation i can come up with is that they must be passing details around .
i have emailed at least a dozen times and have telephoned at least the same amount and all i get is that there is a backlog(lies)and that i am in a cue and i will be refunded asap.at xmas time i telephoned on the wednesday before xmas and i was promised that it would be in my account on the friday and that if it wasnt in my account to phone them on monday. guess what? friday, nothing in my account i couldnt phone them until the monday as i was working all friday so i telephoned them on the monday as requested to find that they were closed until the 6th of january(surprise surprise more lies).i have tried to contact them various times since but i have had no reply or contact from them since.
i am sick of it, how the hell can this company manage to get away with what is thieving from people who are in need of help.why is this company still allowed to operate they should be locked up. the amount of complaints i have since found about them, they must have made thousands out of people in my situation
can you please make sure this company and its thieving directors get closed down or at least try to get word out about this criminal organisation
thanks colin.

Merrywood Loans having been taking un authorised payments from my Bank Account for the last few months and I have had nothing but hassle trying to get it back. I DO NOT have a loan with this Company and their other Company orchard have now also I found out been taking money as well - they owe me nearly £400 and promised over 4 months ago to refund it which I am still waiting for. The girl who answered the phone is ruse and hung up on me saying that she did'nt like to be shouted at but believe me I hadn't even started. It's so frustrating when these companies won't listen. They had no right to take this money and won't give me an explanation as to how they got my information and they Orchard calls always get patched through to Merrywood so you end up with the same rude girl. I want my money back and I will be going to the Fraud Dept, Financial Ombudsmen and the Police if it doesn't stop. The girl even had the nerve to tell me that the refund had been cleared with her Manager but all it takes is a push on a computer button to send it back to my account. As to when is another question. This Company is a scam and has no right taking people's money like this - PLEASE DO SOMETHING URGENTLY!
