Mednax was recently listed as one of Forbes "best places to work". LMAO!
Mednax must have paid a huge sum to Forbes for them to print that LIE! Mednax is a horrible company! You definitely DON'T want to work for them!
They are way behind the times in technology, at least 10 years or more. The billing offices still work off of printed paper, and go through tons of printed paper every year! Most everything that is done in the billing offices is slow and painstaking because of all the paper you have to push on a daily basis! Everybody else is digital, Mednax is still in the "stoneage" compared to other companies.
Their management is management in name alone. The "managers" they have in their billing offices have no training in management at all. In fact, they not only don't know how to manage what they do, they don't have a goddamned CLUE how to manage the people they are over!
There is NO internal communication of any kind! That is between corporate and the billing offices, AND the billing offices themselves, as well as absolutely NO communication between "managers" or between "managers" and employees! It's all done however they want to do it, whenever they feel like doing it. There is no protocol, there is no written procedures, its all up in the air all the time.
Because of this nightmare of an operation, the same account will have been worked and reworked up to 10 times over, because it gets "lost", or it's just sitting on a managers desk and they don't "feel like working on it", or the person doing the paperwork refuses to check, double check, and triple check their work before they just dump it on someone else. Most everything is half-assed done, and people spend more time having to do reworks than going forward with working fresh accounts.
And it doesn't matter anyway, because the bullies run the departments. They do what they want to whoever they want, work how ever they want, and get away with it, because they know that the "management" won't do anything to them. And from what I've been told, it's been like this for the past 10 years or more. At least at the location I was in. But I was told the whole company is screwed up like this.
The management allows the bullies to do as they please, including harassing other employees, torturing and terrorizing other employees, and making life a living hell for the few decent people this company has working for them.
The management doesn't care, the so-called "HR dept" doesn't care, they all just completely ignore everything that goes on, including the complaints they get. The bullies should have been replaced years ago, but they don't have any fear of reprimand or getting fired, because the "management" just does not give a damn, so they harass, torture, and terrorize all they want and get away with it.
So when I see blatant LIES online about this company being a "good place to work for", I have to laugh and cringe at the same time, because it's absurd that such a company would ever, EVER have anyone saying it's a "good place to work", when in fact, it's a horrible nightmare!
Update - 5/30/2021
Most people working from home. Most physical offices closed. Management got worse, the IT department got stupider (HOW they could get stupider than they were is beyond me), company continues to find ways to take money from us. Management is so much worse than before, there's no word for it!
Now they tell us they sold the company to R1. Apparently R1 is doing an "assessment" on Mednax, and will start layoffs and firings in August.
HOW this company has survived at all to this point is a complete mystery! A company so heinously mismanaged, abused, and riddled with employee torment for so many years...I am truly shocked this place has not gone under or been ripped apart by HIPAA!
This company sucks and is as corrupt as you can get. I've worked for some despicable companies, but this one breaks all the laws, rules, and ethics! They claim they care about their employees but have yet to show it. They continues to cut and take away from employees, strangling them further. Everything they do to employees is a kick in the face, a vicious hard [censored] slap!
My bills have piled up since working from home, because the company refuses to pay for anything we need to do our job from home! They give us a laughable stipend of $50 a month, which doesn't even cover 1/8 of what I have to spend every month to work from home, and I can't even write any of this off my taxes!
The "raises" they give us are so laughable, they make us sick. Another kick in the face!
The company keeps telling us how many MILLIONS they are making, and that the company is worth BILLIONS, but they REFUSE to part with ANY of that money to give employees a living wage, or a REAL economic raise! They keep draining us and draining us, and kicking us when we are down, and using and abusing their employees.
I really don't see how this company hasn't disintegrated itself by now! It's beyond comprehension how such a disastrously mismanaged company, and anti-employee company has lasted this long!
Since the pandemic, and everybody having to work from home, this company has gotten worse and worse! They keep on dumping work on us and keep cutting our hours, then complain about the work not being done, when they won't give us the time we need to do the work!
Mednax corporate keeps screwing everything up, then blaming the employees for their screwups because they don't know what the hell they are doing! Corporate keeps cutting back everything employees need to do their jobs, but then send out email notices saying how many millions of dollars the company is making! All the while employees are hurting to pay rent, buy medications, buy food, pay for utilities and such, and still refuse to upgrade their payscale to current area levels! According to Payscale.com they are still behind local area companies of the same type, by $5 to $10 per hour! And keep giving us PENNIES for raises that aren't raises, but more slaps in the faces!
Summary: A company that refuses to take care of their employees, refuses to give employees what they need to do their job adequately from home or at the office, and refuse to properly and ethically pay proper payscales for work done! All the while constantly rubbing it in their employees faces how many millions and millions of dollars they are making!
I could deal with "nightmare"! There is no description of how BAD this company is or how it's run! Well, it is run, run into the ground.
