I have been receiving phone calls from a gentleman with a heavy Indian accent saying that he is calling in regard to medical compensation. I have asked to be taken off the call list a number of times, but still receive communications. Calls have come from a variety of phone numbers, and below is the list of phone numbers I have detected.

I have gotten a call from these people just now. I told the first person he is scamming people and need to be ashamed of himself. They state they are in Atlanta GA but called with a Florida number. Stating they are part of a large class action lawsuit. I asked them for their address so I know where to send the police and I was told I don't understand and that I am offensive. Too laughable to be told by thieves that I am the offensive one. Anyway be careful of the number [protected].

Also when I tried to call the number back it was not a working number saying my call could not be completed as dialed. I hope that someone reads this before they fall victim to these shameless cowards.

Someone just called me from [protected] with "medical compensation plan" for "taking defective drugs". I said that I never took any drugs or been to a doctor; I've been polite throughout the entire conversation. He apologized and said he will remove my number from the list. We'll see, I guess.

Same calls to me. Strong indian/pakistani accent. They says they are from IRS and that I didn't pay all my due and my house is going to be taken away. Ah, ah! Today they call telling that because I had breast cancer I am entitle to a compensation. How in the hell they know I had breast cancer? Shouldn't this be a privacy breach ? I was tempted to play the game to understand where they were going to go. Probably offering to make me part of a class action if I paid something but I got annoyed and told them to stop calling that I was not an idiot.
Anyway these are the numbers they called from:

[protected] medical compensation
[protected] IRS

And they are still calling! 2016...Medical Compensation Department. For an attorney lawsuit involving blood thinners. Advised him any health info on me he had was illegally obtained because I did not sign a release. Advised him US law regarding HIPAA applies to any health information-not the actual physical records from dr. Stupid man. Asked me to listen. I told him I would listen when he gave me the name of the attorney and phone to call. Next stop: Texas Attorney General site to file a formal complaint. Don't mess with HIPAA or Texas.

All of these complaints but no solution? What is happening to this country? There are no rights, and no safeguards against harassing phone calls!
Simply because the U.S. has sold her self cheaply to gain cheap labor and what goes along with this type of abuse is a downward spiral for chance and the result is the birth of the greedy self serving industry riddled with third world money hungry cheap labour. Or have you heard; greed gives birth to the most greediest.
Goodbye to 'let freedom ring.'
Well the bell has rung and we the unsuspecting gets stung. Who going to stand for the rights of the middle man?

I have been getting these phone calls for the last few days. It is obviously a scam these pieces of trash have come up with to try to make a living the best advice I can give is to ask question after question. Flip the script. Tell the Indian guy on the phone he just won 100, 000 but you need him to send you 10, 000 before you can release it to him. It may take a little wasted time on your effort but it has worked for me. I even call them back when I have a few minutes and give the best German accent or Sean Connery accent I can as I am playing their game. Tell them you are Mel Gibson or Julia Roberts when they ask your name. They have gotten so fed up with me that no only did they quit calling me they quit answering my phone calls. It's not a solution because when one of these ### bag scam artists quits two or three more pop up. However it will give you a little laughter and enjoyment at their expense. #becreative

We have been receiving calls from these folks for about 8 years now looking for a MaryAnne Mobly. I have constantly told them that they are violating Federal Law and the Federal Do Not Call Act. Yet the calls continue. We used to get phone numbers that came up on our caller I.D. but now, no number appears. Today when they called, my husband asked for the caller's name and the company name again, and the idiot on the other end hung up. This person (Mobly) has been giving out our home phone number constantly. Today we are going to our local police department to see about filing a harassment complaint against her, as our number is un-published and we do not give it out on a whim.

I did not engage with him for very long before hanging up but it was the same person you have spoken with about medical information had medical compensation for me and I needed to let him talk I hung up the phone.

me too - at what point is this class action for harassment?

The questions that are asked all seem to be about medications or procedures that class action law suites have been publicly announced on those infomercials. Could this be some law firm that is calling random numbers fishing for "clients"? Those law firms are the only ones that win in those cases, and they win big. They get 33% of the settlements, and if they get thousands, or tens of thousands of "patients" who have been "harmed"- they go after the big pharmaceutical companies for hundreds of millions. The actual "patients" get a few dollars -not much. But if they can find 10, 000 patients harmed by whatever drug or procedure - they can get 33% of the whole pot - that's a LOT of money!

there must be a way to figure out who is doing this - and to then file a class action law suit for harassment? I don't have any legal expertise- but seems like we could at least get them to stop if a suit is threatened? Who fights for protection against large scale consumer harassment? The federal DO NOT CALL list doesn't work - but how did that get put into place- someone had to have filed a suit at some point to stimulate the development of that/ Even if it doesn't work - someone was effective in trying to create protection for us. We need to know what organization that was and see if they will get involved!

These people have been calling me claiming to be looking for a lady H____ G____ who had pelvic surgery always wanting her information. Than they want my information about my surgeries. In the last couple of months they have become very abusive, threatening using curse words. They transfer me back and forth between others they call managers who tell me they know where I live and that if I don't give them the information they will come to my house. Tell me they will f*** up me and my family. Of course I have had a few choice words for these Mother---- (compound word in Detroit). This Disabled Vet can't wait for the b*st*rds to show up on my door step. They will die quickly of lead poisoning, think it is in the local water :). Bring it on my little foreign buddies...

I too get the calls periodically. It started about 2 or 3 years ago and happens every few months for several days to several weeks, sometimes several times a day. Today, from Florida, yesterday from North Carolina, the day before Texas. It starts for a while so I get hopeful they got the point then, cringe, it starts again. I am so sick of it, when I tell them I have told them I have asked numerous times to be removed from their list they just hang up and call again the next day from a different number. I even had one have the audacity to call me back and demand to know why I did not want the money I deserve. I told him I deserve nothing since I had no harm done to me from any procedures. I tried reporting them but since they are most likely based oversees not much that can be done. Its annoying. You think though that if they got someone smart enough to call their bluff they would give up and move on. Unfortunately, cant be that lucky.

I have been getting these calls for almost a year now. US numbers from several northern states, all male (sounds like the same person) Indian speaking. I have told them each time do not call, I have not had the Mesh Implant or any other surgery and I will not discuss my medical issues with him or anyone else, take me off of your list. A few days later I get another call.

I have received the for the past few months on my cell phone at all hours of the day! I block the number and a new number pops up the next time around. I went along with the call once to explain I've NEVER had surgery of any kind and asked to be put on the "do not call list". They keep calling! It's annoying! I've just become excessively rude now when they call. As soon as I hear his heavily accented Indian and he identifies himself, I start with the WTF's and they quickly hang up. I know it's rude, but I'm tired of the pesky calls!

I have been getting the same calls for sometime now, a few a month. I haven't had the surgery they are talking about or taken the meds so they don't continue the conversation. These people are running some kind of scam. I suspect that if I said yes I had the surgery then at some point they would ask for my ss number, cc number or for me to send them money so I can get some kind of bigger pay out from a class action settlement or something along those lines. Then I would find unauthorized charges on my account or money taken out in my name etc. Reporting them to the Do Not Call Registry won't work because they are not a legitimate business. Any kind of legitimate above board business would not repeatedly call people who have already said they don't qualify and would have to comply with the government regulations on who they can call. They are already breaking the law so the DNC registry is irrelevant to them.

They call me all the time asking for a guy named Sherman. Today I finally played into their games. "Yes this is Sherman!" "Yes, I used Xarelto and have experienced bleeding from my rectum. I was hospitalized for 2 weeks and I don't have an Attorney!"

They transferred me to Supervisors and now they are transferring me to their "Legal Team to discuss the best way for me to get paid my settlement."

Hahaha what a joke they are!

I just received my first call from this "company". A man with a heavy Indian accent wanted to know if I had had surgery a long time ago...(really?). I responded by asking who was calling? He said it was the Medical Compensation Department. I asked for what company and he repeated himself. As he was trying to talk, I looked up the name online...saw the complaints...and told him, "I know this is a scam" and hung up. The number he called from was [protected] and came up as "Boca Raton, FL".

THICK Indian accents. Can't tell what he's saying other than State Medical Department or Medical Compensation. Asks me if I take a certain medication, but can't tell what he's saying when he say the type of med. Always a different number that you can't call back. LISTEN, he says when I can't understand, then tries to spell it out for me, which is worse. He asks for me by my social name, my nickname, not my given name that would be on Med records. Today's area code was from Fla

I received a very similar call where the caller attempted to coach me in what to say
I too played along to waste their time because the longer I did that kept him off the phone with someone else. When it came time for me to speak to the last person I told him the truth. He seemed surprised but "oh well".
What has me scratching my head is how this scam is beneficial to them? What are they getting out of it and how?

I have been getting these calls for over a year now. Heavy Indian accent, talking about my past medical history, etc. Same story as everyone else. They call from all different numbers. Every time they call I "auto-reject" the number so that it never comes through again but they call from other numbers. I have auto-rejected over 50 numbers for these people but the calls still keep coming. I wonder why nothing is being done about this, it must be illegal in so many ways because they are totally lying and I have asked them to stop MANY times. Not to mention I am on the "do not call list" which I am convinced is also a hoax considering how ineffective it is.

I have been getting these from men with THICK Indian accents as well. They know me by name and are verifying which drugs I have taken saying I am entitled to compensation. They are dialing from all sort of numbers, today they called from [protected], earlier it was from [protected]. When you call back the number is unlisted. The scary thing is they know the medication I'm taking. seems like medical records were compromised somewhere. I'm from Long Island NY, Where is anyone else from who's receiving them?

I have been receiving calls from several different numbers and the callers all have a heavy foreign accent. This morning's call was from Medical Compensation again and started off wanting to know if I took lipitor. I have told them several times I am on the Do Not Call list and to remove me from their calling list. I was told "to listen to me" and I told the gentleman "No - you listen to me - STOP CALLING ME!" It doesn't help.

todays call came from this number: [protected]

I too have been receiving these calls, I have had 7 calls that I know of in less than a week. *4 today*! They have a thick Indian accent, males and females, telling me I've had bladder surgery and they want to give me medical compensation. Idiots - telling me I've had surgery that I haven't had. They've been told to remove my number from their list. They call from several different numbers. What can be done to stop this foolishness?

I have been getting them as well, for over a month now. Even when you yell at them and hang up, they call back over and over! This is harassment! I have been called by a couple different numbers now, the last one [protected]. No one answers and voicemail is full.
I am also on the do not call registry . I am going to call my phone co, I'm so pissed I feel like calling the police. It's from so many different numbers it's annoying, and every time the man has a thick Indian accent. Their trying to see if we've had anyone in the family died of bladder cancer etc, trying to get on some kind of law suit/ medical compensation.
I'm so annoyed!

You can block all the numbers, but it won't do any good. They call from disconnected numbers. They have been calling me for months almost every day. I have to answer because my cell phone is my business phone. They called me at 7:00 am. They don't care. I am on all of the do not call lists. It does not keep you from getting cold calls. It just means you can report them for cold calling you. But try to prove it.

no matter what you say or how many times you tell them not to call i swear they call more. They are calling from a call center and yes they are foreign. They use different phone numbers some times they even come up unknown caller. This is very stressful and unwanted by the people there must be some way to stop this it really is a scam I have never had bladder surgery and I haven't put in a claim nor have I taken medications they mention.

SCAM CALLERS! Heavy Indian accents with very American-sounding names. Caller ID said Boston, but when I asked where they were located, he said Florida. I had trouble understanding him beyond something about "U.S. Medical Department" and "surgery." I said repeatedly I couldn't understand him, so I kept getting transferred back and forth between the same man and woman, both with heavy Indian accents and "fake" American-sounding names like David Johnson or Jane Smith... They kept telling me I deserve medical compensation for a past surgery. They asked if I had surgery in the past, and I said something vague like "Yes, when I was a kid, but I don't know what type of surgery." Then the man said that I only had to answer 6 questions once he transferred me to his supervisor, but he was going to tell me the answers to tell the other person, otherwise I wouldn't receive medical compensation. Every time I said this seems strange or I don't understand, they just passed me to another person repeating the script in a garbled accent and persistent/demanding voice. They essentially told me to lie and say that I had some sort of bladder sling surgery one year, told me the reasons to tell the person they'd transfer me to, as well as saying I have specific complications and had the bladder sling removed the next year. They asked if there was a hospital nearby me and the name of it, but I didn't want to give them any more personal information so I said, "yeah, I can think of a few, I'll just say one" as I played along... Then they told me specifically to say I went to "City Hospital" and that a Dr. Katsy did the surgery. No first name... And said that if I gave these exact answers to the person they'd transfer me to, that I'd be owed up to $10, 000 in compensation. But if I said anything like "someone told me to say this" that the guy would lose his job and I'd lose compensation... "Free medical compensation" they kept saying. And I said, I'm just not sure why you're contacting me. I have not had these surgeries. I don't want to lie." So the man transferred me to the woman and she said, in poor English and a frustrated tone, "Why you not want to lie, for like two minutes, when it could get you free money?" As if alarm bells aren't already ringing in my head... And she sent me back to the man, who was having me "practice" for the next person to speak to... Asking all the questions that he'd already told me the answers to say. I again said, "I don't feel comfortable lying, and this seems like a scam, honestly." I even said, "there is no "U.S. Medical Department" (having googled it to see that this scam call shows up... and wondering how far they'd take it.) I was given the same response: "I am from the U.S. Medical Department. Don't you want compensation? Why not lie for two minutes to get compensation? This isn't a scam. I promise you this isn't a scam. You have to trust me and just do what I say, ok?" hmm... So he asked me whether I had the Bladder Sling Surgery, (expecting me to give the response he told me to write down) and I flatly said, "nope. haven't had that surgery." They tried going through their scripts again, determined to keep me on the line, but I finally said after half an hour, "Look, I'm not comfortable with lying and this is getting weird. I think I'm going to hang up now." (Due to the extreme annoyance of this type of call... I was more than willing to waste their time as they were surely wasting mine.) And the guy actually said, "Fine, stop wasting my time then. Just hang up then, BI***!" Despite my shock, I didn't hang up right away, and neither did he for some reason... I could hear in the background frustrated loud talking, yelling and swearing... I only assume about how much time he spent talking to me... I could also hear laughter like it was a very crowded room, and it was very odd that he never hung up the call, while I listened to them talk about how much time he'd wasted and complained and yelled... Finally someone over there wised up and hung up the phone. I've never experienced such pushy people trying to get me to lie about my medical records for free money. Other people say this is a lawsuit issue and there are women who have had medical issues related to these types of surgeries, and perhaps this was just employees trying to do their jobs, not knowing whether they were hired to do something unethical. Still, it was alarmingly invasive and rude. What's strange is that when I googled this number, computer-hacking scams came up. And when I googled this "free medical compensation from US Medical Department" I found that they're calling from a lot of numbers that show up as different states. Numbers which you of course cannot return calls to. I hope this message helps other people who are dealing with these callers... And I really wish there was a way to actually report them! It seems not only unethical and illegal, but especially after the guy called me a bi*** for "wasting his time" --- horribly rude! Whoever orchestrates these things should be arrested... The number that called me was [protected], which I saw was associated with some Windows computer hacking scam... I tried to call it back, and it will alternate between "This is not a working number" or ring and then eventually say "Welcome to Verizon Wireless. Your call cannot be completed as dialed. Please check the number and try again." Based on that, I'm guessing they're on cell phones... Wish someone could enforce these people to stop this dismaying and illegal scam stuff.
