Mavis Discount Tire - service

I went today to get an oil change on my truck and have my brakes checked because they're under warranty from mavis and I have had difficulty with the car shaking over 40 mph when I brake. they charged MORE for an oil change than the mavis a mile away I usually go to (but didn't today because this is closer to my home to walk from). the oil change at this mavis was 25$ more for no reason. I still continued on because again, it's closer to my house than the one I frequent normally. the man (richie) at the front desk did not listen to anything I said about the truck and just yes'd me to death when I was trying to explain my concerns. when he called me to tell me the truck was done, I asked if anyone looked at the brakes under warranty with them and he didn't think they did so he asked. he then got back on the phone to tell me the brakes look new and I need nothing done and they can't "drive it around this area 40 mph so I have to get a second opinion somewhere else" even though he told me to go to the mavis a mile and change away on the same exact block to have them drive it 40 mph? when I finally got back into the truck a bunch of stuff from my middle compartment was on the front drivers seat? and 3$ of money was missing from a roll of quarters I had for parking. not only did they tell me they were essentially unable to do their job, the little bit of a job they did they went through my [censored]. I would give a zero if I could.

EDITED FOR POST RESULT. Went to the mavis down the block in island park where I was told my calipers are frozen. so yea. don't go to this mavis.

Mavis Discount Tire - Oil change

Dear Sirs:

I went to the Mavis Discount Tire in Long Beach, NY, for an oil change Jan 6, 2022 and I had already purchased the 5qt container of Castrol GTX full synthetic 5w-30 oil and oil filter. I waited with an appt for almost an hour. The manager told me that I didn't have enough oil and that he put in another 1/2 qt of oil with no charge. I informed him that my car only takes 4qts of oil and was expecting 1 qt back. He insisted I was wrong and showed me on his computer that it said 5.5 qts oil. But that was not my car model. I told him that wasn't my car, but he kept insisting that I needed the 5 1/2 qts and that it was the same size engine. I told him that I have been changing the oil for 9yrs. and always got 1qt back from a 5qt container. As a matter of fact, most of the oil changes were done there and the Mavis in Island Park. I checked the dipstick when I got home and it was past the maximum amount and got the proof that my car (2013 mini cooper coupe s) only uses 4 qts (4.4 to be exact allowing for the filter) and drove back there and even then he insisted I was wrong; that I was showing him a false piece of paper on my phone I told him to please take out the extra oil. I waited a long while and he said he did take out the oil as I requested. I rechecked the dipstick and it was at the maximum, completely covering the second bump. I had been driving the car when I noticed on Jan 15, 2002, oil dripping from my car. I immediately went back to Mavis and told them oil was dripping and perhaps the oil plug wasn't tight. He showed me on the lift that the plug was tight, but the dripping was coming from the rear seal. I asked him why suddenly it was dripping and he said he didn't know, but it probably started a while ago. I told him I had absolutely no problem before the oil change and if that were true why didn't his mechanic document it, or make me aware of it. I told him that it was caused by the extra oil in the engine that he had placed and he denied even then that the car had too much oil in it. I went home and researched and called my dealership and confirmed that too much engine oil puts too much pressure on the rear seal and can cause a leak. I went to my owner's manual and it clearly warned that the oil should register in between the two bumps and anything extra is subject to ruining the engine. Then it warned again DO NOT PUT TOO MUCH OIL IN THE ENGINE. I got very upset and started to panic as I had been driving my car still with too much oil and called the manager at Mavis. Again he insisted that he did not put too much oil in my engine and an argument ensued. I hung up the phone and again went to Mavis Long Beach and insisted they take out the extra oil. The guy in charge Robert, called the manager who was not present and came back and told me the manager instructed him not to remove any more oil from my car. I had taken a picture of the dipstick and brought my owner's manual showing the proof and even then he said no. I told him I would not leave until the extra oil was removed from my car. He asked to see the picture of my dipstick again and I think he took a screen shot of it, went inside the garage and came back out and agreed to remove the excess oil from my car.

I would appreciate your taking responsibility for this repair as it was obviously the fault of Mavis Discount Tire, Long Beach, NY
Thank you for your prompt response to this unfortunate matter. It was one of the most stressful and frustrating experiences I have ever encountered with a car repair shop and my car should not be driven until the repair is made. I have an appointment with Mavis Island Park for a car inspection and am hoping there is no damage to my spark plugs and emission system as well.

Desired outcome: repair my leaking rear seal
