I payed for the app but I stopped because it’s new interface is so bad. You have to crop te picture before you take and so it’s tedious holding the camera and positioning right on the problem. It’s annoying when it’s on a paper with a bunch of other problems on there. You used to be able to take a picture and then crop it I don’t know why they saw a need to change it. Also you can’t build on problems or use your answers for other problems I don’t know if I explained it clearly. But you used to be able to solve a problem then tap on the answer and then it would copy and paste that answer so that you can do something to that answer. Now you have to type everything in one go making sure all parentheses is correct. Also on some problems if you mistyped and realize it too late, if you go to history you can’t edit it from there you have to retype the entire problem. It’s tedious, it was great before I have no idea why there was a need to fix something that’s not broken. It’s only good for checking answers.

I got this app on my new iPad and I used this app all the time and it worked great for the first 3 weeks. Well, one day in my math class I was using it and I accidentally clicked the mic button so I pressed the exit button. After I pressed it, my iPad started glitching like crazy. Then it showed the little loading symbol when you power it down and it would not stop showing that. So I held down the power button and the home button to reboot it. Well, after that it didn't even turn back on. I plugged it in for about a week or two and I didn't mess with it. It still didn't turn on. So I contacted apple and asked for help but they said if the hard reboot didn't work, I would have to go to one of their stores but I live about 3 hours away from the closest one. I asked if it may been my storage and they said it was more than likely the code in the app, and I was really disappointed. This app really disappointed me at the end, I really hope they fix this, because I basically just wasted about 300-400 dollars.

I’m am math major and use this app to check work when I’m unsure. I’m almost done and have had problems the entire way through. When I first started this app was awesome it could any simple math up to calculus with no problems. Things like basic integrals were no problem for this app but once you start to do more difficult or complex integral the app responds with I’m unsure how to solve this problem. Sometimes I want to solve a polar equation let’s say and it won’t give me the option. It will graph it but if I use the variable r first it shuts down. I have to turn it into a rectangular equation then type that in which to me defeats the purpose of the app. A ton of my upper division math classes are kinda hard so I sometimes need an app like this to check work when I’m lost and have depended on this app for so long but recently it has let me down and I will most likely delete it.

So I ended up deleting this app because I was tired of it not being able to solve anything. It can’t solve pretty basic limits like lim x!/x^n it just tells me that it’s unsolvable even though I could do something like this in my head. If you are not serious about math then this is a great app if you then don’t bother.

So I’m with all of you on how horrible the app is now with the new update. I did however find a solution to this issue. There browser version is still the old set up. So just go into your phones internet browser and go to Mathway.com. Looks exactly like it should. Ya it’s a nuance but hopefully they will notice and be quick about fixing the update. I get it they tried to make it more simplistic but all they did was make it impossible for us to utilize it. And right when it’s finals for community college students. Come on Mathway put it back to its classic function. Or actually I should say wolframAlpha bring back the Mathway we know and love. As they are the operating system it runs off of. Hope this helps everyone. Good luck on your finals and if your finished with your term congrats and don’t stress if you didn’t get the grades you wanted. Analyze what you could have done better make note of it and then build a game plan for the next semester. Best way to success if your like me and not fast at absorbing material, see if the classes you are taking next semester are on OpenStax and start reading the material that way you’ll always be ahead and won’t run into scenarios where one class is taking up all your time hurting a more important class or vise versa. If you want to succeed then look at your self in the mirror and be honest and ask, “am I giving all the effort I can give?”

I first found mathway in middle school in 6th grade I believe and it was amazing. I always kept it on my phone and it was a MUST HAVE math app. But the difference between now and then (I’m a sophomore now btw) is that it used to have free answer solutions. And since my parents won’t pay for the subscription and I don’t work I can’t see the answers that I need. All of my math teachers so far are my favorites because if I don’t understand something they will explain it to me in detail. But if I have math homework and I can’t figure something out, finding a way to by using one of the best apps I’ve ever used. Yes I can ask my teacher the next day in class but I like math because you have a chance to be assertive, I wanna find the answer out my myself and using an app helps me do so. ⭐️ So I would like to propose an idea that would allow however many days that you decide, free to see the work answers. I don’t use the apps a lot so I don’t know if you do that already, or if u have the app free over the summer (because one summer years ago I used it for IXL on the computer) but I would like for that to be a thing. Maybe 2 days out of the month? Twice every month or so and you have notifications telling when the next free date is coming up. Or per say you give us 4 days are free (and with a limited amount of 5 problems that day). So we can choose our own day to use our free “Tap to view tutorial” with an AD or something? That would be very much appreciated. ⭐️ But otherwise please keep up the good work in finding more solutions and better answers to problems, I would love to see something of my proposal come into play so I can do my homework much easier. I do use Photomath as well but I prefer mathway .

AI could enable Mathway to recognize patterns and language structures within word problems, allowing it to better understand the problem and provide more accurate solutions. It would be an exciting development for the app, and I hope that the developers will consider adding this feature in the future. In conclusion, Mathway is an excellent math problem-solving app that is highly effective at solving most math problems. Its user-friendly interface makes it accessible to all, from students to professionals. However, it falls short when it comes to solving complex word problems, which is where AI could come in handy. Overall, Mathway is a must-have app for anyone who needs a reliable and efficient tool for solving math problems.

I paid for the annual subscription and it’s not up until October, however my Mathway hasn’t been working since last week. I thought it was a system error but this is too long! I’m paying and nothing is happening and I’m very disappointed. Everytime I put in an equation or any problem it is not solving it. Cannot detect or cannot solve problem. Note some questions have similar formats to question I ask before.

Calculator has an up carrot to key in an exponent, but no way to return back to add an + or a - or x or / sign. Just stays in exponent field and can only continue to add exponents to the exponents. No explanations or link to how to use calculator or glossary of terms. Just a pop-up advertisement to immediately subscribe for $20 per month. Wow. We were testing out app for simple factoring problems, but continually got stuck in the exponent field. No HELP menu offered.

I am dissapointed I have heard great things about this and I should’ve known this was a complete scam this was too good to be true. I was in need of help and payed for the subscription (9.99) just to give it a try and it appears as if I was charged and it appears in my subscriptions box but when I went to math away to use it, it shows that I still need to upgrade to get further steps even though I just payed. This is ridiculous and when I call to get my money back they are supposedly busy.

I hate it so much and I’m cancelling my Mathway subscription because of it. Literally doesn’t solve problems the way it used to, like when I want to solve for x on an equation, it’ll only show me how it solves it when it graphs. Don’t tell me to try using the other methods it offers to solve the problem, I tried all of them and none of them explained the answer to me like it used to before this fugly update. If yall don’t fix this, I’m cancelling my membership and getting a subscription for Symbolab.

Ok LOVE LOVE LOVE Mathway it to me would be the best rated math game I have ever tried. I don't certainly know if there has been a recent update or something. Anyhow, everytime I try to get into mathway it just keeps saying bad connection; which really was never a problem before because I happen to have good connection and all. My advice to you would to make a edit or a update on this game which maybe can let you use the app with no WiFi. Just my suggestion!

so basically a couple months back I have gotten the free trial for a month and after I canceled they have kept trying to charge me for my next month and which I didn’t so once I had money on my account the first thing they did was snatch those $10 and $.81 and they won’t even let me see the steps to them questions so basically I paid for nothing without my consent yeah please give me my money back I need those $10 or if not I’ll literally keep posting reviews and telling the world what you done you little rat.

I have been using the free version for a couple of weeks and I decided to buy the year membership because I needed to see how to solve a problem. I paid the $39.99 and I am still stuck with the free version. I can’t turn the step by step option on because it wants me to buy it again and to top it off, I can’t even log in anymore because it tells me I am entering the incorrect information. I sent out a request for help to customer service but...still waiting for them to review my request. I would say DONT BUY IT!

My wife started college this year and needed help with Algebra. We looked for a good app and she decided on this one. Just like the other reviews, most of the time it says it doesn’t understand the problem and can’t solve, even though it did it once previously! Very sporadic at best. The thing that really ticks me off is you pay $9.99 upfront for premium, then find out it’s crap. All this developer wants is to keep collecting $9.99 for 1 month from a lot of people! The made $9.99 off us today and we are canceling. They got paid for nothing!

The idea of app is very good, even if you have to pay to see a steps, but apps itself making a lot of mistakes, which is make no sense to me how it even possible? Bad coding? Different math rules?

I don’t need to say anything else. Jesus. Can you do simple math?

I paid the extra to get the step by step explanation and every time I hit the button for the explanation it tells me to upgrade to premium. Of course, I can’t even ask for help through the cog wheel because it tells me to upgrade.

Another issue...even as I’m trying to send this it won’t let me saying the nickname is taken. Makes no sense.

I have used this app for a while and decided to get the monthly $20 subscription for 3 months for a particularly hard class. After those three months, I cancelled the subscription and I thought all was good until it charged me the next month even though it TOLD me that it was canceled. I went to varying degrees of trying to stop this from happening for two more months until I FINALLY got the Mathway rep to answer my messages and stop the subscription, but by that time I lost way more money than I should have messing with this app. This is a good app free, but DON'T BUY THE MEMBERSHIP! You WILL get scammed!

I used their app for 1 month then I no longer needed it so I deleted the app. Well guess what? They continued to charge me 19.99 per month for about a year, which went unnoticed until a few days ago. When I call them to tell them that I have been charged for a service I did not want or use a woman named Kelly, which is apparently the only customer service representative and the administrator told me tough cookie, that I would not get a refund for this unwanted service. So, basically you use their service and they steal your money long after you stopped using it. She (Kelly) was SUPER rude and I would not recommend anyone using Mathway.

I just Installed the app and the first thing it says was that there wasn’t any internet connection, so I thought that it was normal and my internet is just down. I went someplace else and used someone else’s internet and it said the same thing. I’ve read lots of good reviews about the app and was hoping to join them and write a great review about but I couldn’t because it wouldn’t even let me use it. My internet is completely fine and when I tried mathpapa it worked. I’m not saying that mathpapa is better than Mathway But what I am trying to say is that I need mathway to work so I can check my answers. I’ve used mathway on someone else’s phone and it worked great, but mine... not so much. Please read this email and try to fix this problem.

When I struggled with problems, I paid $179.00 up front for the year subscription only to get a “Tudor” less educated than myself who spoke to me with complete disrespect as if I was wasting his time. After sending a photo and a clear question...Brandon, my paid Tudor...with a sent photograph and a clear question...just shut down the conversation, basically telling me that I’m too stupid for his time. Very few of the solution help actually matched my algebra homework. Wrong answers 75% of the time and could not follow the examples in accordance with my textbook when looking for additional help in understanding how to solve any problem. If you want to cheat...great app if you are only looking to score a D. Glad I at least know enough on my own and getting an A. Looking for basic help...this app is a complete zero! Testing it above basics...zero. You will fail. The “paid” tudors are worthless and rude. Millennial app to the max!

Every time it says that it can't find any math. I took 30 pictures and it said the same thing over and over, but when I took a picture with the website I got the answer instantly.

If you're reading this, use the website mathway, but not the garbage app. Even photomath is better than than this app, and that app was so bad that my teachers talked about it to try and prevent people from cheating. The website is perfect when you ignore the ads. This app had no effort go into it and the website had all of the effort go into it.

Loser developers just want people to watch ads so badly that they let people think that they can just pull out an app to do a quick problem, then lead them away from the app and to the website when they are in a situation where they have to solve it but can't with the app.

I hate mathway because of the developers, but it works on the website so I use it. If there's a better alternative then I would be using that and so should you, so keep your eyes open.
