We had a pop up on our computer saying we had 13 viruses detected and that we needed to buy this software to get rid of it. We purchased the software from a company calle Marketing Soft Solutions for 99.00. Only to realize later that the software and pop up was a virus. This company apparently keeps changing it's name. I couldn't find it anywhere on the internet. But there are other scams by companies with soft in the name based in the same city(Baku, Az.) We are now having to cancell our bank card and dipute the charges with the bank.
The complaint has been investigated and resolved to the customer’s satisfaction.
The same thing happen to me.The screen poped up saying i had 79 virsus i paid 59.99 for 1 year .When i went to write down the imformation it disappered from the screen.They are still takeing out 59.99 from my credit card.
This is my FIFTH response to Bank of America Credit card trying to get our money back.
This is how the Marketing Soft Solutions scam occurred:
1. While adding an enhancement to our account with Webroot, (WR) an Internet security software, I had just finished my business with them and a "pop up" appeared on my screen, seamlessly, as if it was a part of the legitimate site that I was on; an extension of WR.
The palaver in the popup (I know now was from Marketing Soft Solutions not WR) said they had scanned my computer and found 10 or so serious viruses infecting it and for $99.90 they would clean them out and make my computer once again secure. Believing I was paying Webroot (our legitimate security provider for several years); I paid for the services with my MasterCard.
2. There is NO WAY I could find to contact Marketing Soft Solutions – the company is located in Azerbaijan. When I got the original “Online Banking Alert” from Bank of America, the notice stated “Merchant was not provided.” If you search the Internet for a way to find them, you will only find others who have also been scammed by this thief (see attached complaints from others who have suffered losses).
3. I do not know if they are bankrupted.
4. The scammer, Marketing Soft Solutions, did not provide ANY paperwork to me just a popup screen.
5. No merchandise was ever received. They took the credit card number and disappeared.
6. No merchandise was received and I have no way of contacting them.
7. Since no merchandise was ever delivered by Marketing Soft Solutions, a second opinion is impossible. However I offer a copy of my Webroot contract.
Please issue a credit of $99.90 to my account to clear this matter.
I was on my Toshiba laptop on the internet and suddenly it said I had 38 trojan viruses and locked down my internet Marketing soft solutions came on my front screen and said I need to purchase I was unable to scan my laptop computer to check what was going on I had norton 360 on my laptop but it expired a few weeks ago when I tried to update my norton 360 it wouldnt let me open it and clean my computer.The only screen that would come up was that I had to purchase there software to clean my computer it was 3 diffrent prices $59.95 it was one year protection, $69.95 was 2 year protection and $79.95 was a lifetime protection I clicked on the $79.95. It asked for my card information when I put it in it said my card was aproved and suddenly an acess code came on the page and by time I got up to get a pen to write down the acess code it disapeared it was only on there for about 2 seconds max. When the code left my internet was back up and my files restored I just left my laptop alone and continued using it. This took place on march 9th and it has bin a month from now today is April 20th I got on my laptop conected to google then Marketing soft solutions shut down my internet once again and said I had to pay when I saw this I didnt understand why I had to pay and it said I had a lifetime waranty. Afterwards I decided to pay once again while trying to pay with my card it kept saying that my information is incorrect this I dont understand because it was the same info I put in before it wont let me get on my internet none at all I cant see none of my files I checked my bank statement it was on there as marketing soft solutions but I cannot find a website for them I cant even use my laptop I had to wait till I got to the library to use there internet I dont know what to do. Can someone help me please.
