Mad City salesman Kris Warshawsky took all my mom and my numbers for the credit report and made this great big spiel about having windows and doors and bathroom in. I had told Kris that we don’t want to up in price because we are on a fixed income. Kris gave us the figure of, I wasn’t sure because he scribbled out one price and wrote over it with what looked like $24,000 and it turned out to be $27,000. Kris told us the credit was approved and the credit place would get in touch with us, to set up a payment plan. I called the next day to let Kris know to cancel the bathroom because it was supposed to be $16,000 and we couldn’t afford that. We subtracted the $16,000 from the $24,000 getting the amount down to around $11,000 and we could handle that. The installment was scheduled for the 7th of December and the crew that came out were very nice and put the windows and the sliding door; however, they didn’t have all the trim and had to wait for someone in Madison to bring what they were missing. When they had finished with the windows and door the crew chief sat down to give us the final paperwork and it showed the price of $27,000. We told him Mad City still needed to take the $16,000 off the $27,000, he said that the bathroom amount was taken off. That’s when we found out that Kris, the guy that came out initially put the figures in after he left our house, he put my mom’s name on the paperwork as though he discussed it with my mom and me. He screwed us over because we would not have signed, we would have canceled. Mad City sent the paperwork showing the figures and we sent our copy back to Mad City, showing the scribble and a number written over the scribbled-out amount and that there was nothing on the paperwork that he left with us and that he had figures on the paperwork he turned in. Mad City wanted to send him out again because the credit paperwork is in mom’s name and shows mom’s monthly income as $8,000, which is our total combined. They won’t put both our names on the contract and they did put moms name on the contract and mom does not make that amount. They said Kris needed to come back out to do a credit on me-Kris took both of our information and put everything under her name for the credit. We were told he was taken off the contract and then he’s back on because he needs to come out to get my information. They are telling us that if the funding contract doesn’t go through, they will put a lien on our property, and we are to pay cash. The initial visit that Kris-the individual made was back in August and we were led to believe that the funding was already done and that we were already approved for the funding. If we weren’t approved, and if they didn’t have something in place, they should not have installed the windows and the door because the income that we both make being that we’re on a fixed income won’t work and the fact that they only put mom’s name on it with both of our incomes doesn’t work that you need to put both of us on the contract with his paperwork because he took both of our information. We’re getting the runaround, they should never have installed these windows and sliding door before the funding contract was in place.

So Naomi from Mad City was able to get the amount down from the $27,000 to $15,000 and Mad City then sent another guy-Jeremy, out to get the credit paperwork submitted. However, they said that if we put both our names on the contract, that the interest would go up from 6.99% to 10%. Mad City is like what’s the difference if mom is on the contract with the income of $8000 with 6.99% or if we are both of us are on there now with the 10% increasing our payment by another $40.

So they have changed numbers and percentages and they want us to be happy the windows and door are in, so we should just sign the paperwork. First the initial salesman-Kris had us believing that we were approved for the credit so we could move forward with the windows, patio door and the bathroom. However, that wasn’t the case, Kris was changing paperwork putting his numbers on – with everything I feel we were lied to, numbers were manipulated and basically treated with such disrespect. If they had been honest, we would not have agreed to move forward, because we didn’t want to put ourselves in a financial bind. We have repeatedly requested an itemized listing of work that was done. With the last salesman-Jeremy, he said why-the windows and door are already installed, it really doesn’t matter it’s already done.

Desired outcome: Mad City, Naomi and Kris should pay the bill for lying, manipulating numbers and threating us to sign the credit contract, there would be a lien on the house and property.
