Luxe Hiking Gear review: Camping equipment

This is a scam operation. You WILL NOT receive your order and you will not receive a response for assistance via email nor telephone. The items shown on the business website ARE NOT in-stock. This operation purports to be the manufacturer. The actual manufacturer, Luxe Outdoor, is based in Hong Kong. Luxe Hiking Gear uses the Luxe name in its business title to sow confusion. Luxe Hiking Gear was merely a retail distributor for Luxe Outdoor products, but it is no longer.

Luxe Outdoor (the manufacturer), in a letter dated 01-28-2023, terminated its relationship with Luxe Hiking Gear due to the myriad of complaints you are reading here and elsewhere, but this scam business is still attempting to operate despite this. It has even gone so far as to construct a new automated email response directing blame at "negative" customers and non-existent logistic problems for its recent termination.

This is a classic scam operation. The operator will take the customer's money and employ stall tactics to prevent the customer from initiating a dispute or chargeback from the respective bank. The customer may occasionally receive an automated email stating that he is in a "queue" to receive the purchased merchandise to help facilitate this stalling. The operator has also disabled comments across his social media platforms in an attempt to hide and maintain his fraudulent activity.

The business uses the Shopify sales platform to defraud customers and you are urged to report this to Shopify; they have an avenue to report merchants for deceptive business practices. Customers who have been defrauded are also urged to report it to the Washington State Office of the Attorney General and to the Federal Trade Commission. Relief can be sought through Washington State district court Small Claims Division and through civil litigation.
