We don't know much about how Lifetouch handles customer complaints outside ComplaintsBoard, but what we see here, on our website, is quite disappointing. We think there might be reasons for the company's actions (like not knowing about the complaints), and we would be happy to see them among customer-focused businesses that easily solve customer problems. But until that happens, we ask reviewers to be cautious when dealing with Lifetouch and using their services, and to carefully read the experiences of other customers on ComplaintsBoard, because who is warned is armed, you know! 💪

Lifetouch School portraits

Lifetouch is NOT professional with the lack of amount of time that they keep your child's school photo on file to place an order. I tried to order my daughter's school pictures from last spring, and was told that they only keep your photo on file for 11.5 months. This is not acceptable for people who are not able to order at the time - good photographers such as Smart Photography keep your images on file for a period of 5 years and are proud to provide this service to their valued clients. I have no idea why schools even use Lifetouch - the picture quality is terrible, they don't care about getting a good pose for the student, their website is horrible to navigate and place an order, customer service is rude, and now I find out that they don't keep your photos for even a year. I would not recommend this company at all and I hope that schools stop using them so that they can learn what good customer service is all about when they have no clients.

Desired outcome: Get my pictures back so that I can at least order my child's memories

Lifetouch Inconsiderate photographer and assistant.

My gorgeous daughter got her photos taken twice from this horrible company called lifetouch. They are the worst photographer and [censored]-istant. Ive never had such horrible school photos taken by such an inconsiderate, incompetent company in my life. I dress her up like a doll and fix her hair, but both times the incompetent photo workers couldn’t even set up her hair for a [censored]in simple photo. She looks like she just rolled out of bed with messy [censored] hair all over the place and running across her face. I have never hated with a passion such a company ever before. Who the [censored] works like that. I won’t ever purchase photos again from this company, ever.

Lifetouch Pictures

My daughter 11th grade had her pictures taken in October 2021... lifetouch lost the entire school's portraits... have had multiple phone calls to your company to reorder. This is the 4th order you "claim" to be sending me...6 months later still haven't recieved our pictures! The school year is almost over... do you think I could get my pictures before she graduates high school?! I seriously can't believe how bad your company has messed up... I'm irritated and angry and want the pictures I paid for 6 months ago!

Desired outcome: I'd like to receive the pictures I paid for!

Lifetouch Photography

My son Wyatt is in the first grade at Holiday Hill Elementary in Jacksonville FL. He had Spring pictures done March 3, 2022

We have always used Life touch for my son's pictures, as for his school pictures. In my son's photos you can clearly see 2 white squares on both sides of his cheeks. Like they were blemishing his face for some reason, when I ordered the photos online thru lifetouch I did not ask for anything extra; teeth whitening, scar remover, blemish correcting. The photos look horrible and I paid $45 for these. Again, I have never had an issue with lifetouch until now.

Also, with young children as a photographer be happy, crack some jokes, get that one real smile from the child. Not, okay on 3 smile 1, 2, 3 and click. I understand as a photographer you're busy, you have a lot of photos to take but in reality it only takes a second to maybe run a comb thru a child's hair real quick if you see a strangler in his face. Take pride in what you do, because my son's photos look rushed, poorly taken, and just downright horrible.

Lifetouch Product refund

Two months ago I received my pictures from Lifetouch through JCPenney's. They turned out very pixelated and blurry, I reached out to Lifetouch and was promised a full refund if Sent back the pictures with a dark X marked over them. I did. I was then told my refund would take 5-7 business days to process, after waiting three weeks I still had not received anything so I called back. I was then tossed around on the phone until they finally transferred me to someone who could help, only for them to tell me that their refund department is running behind. I then asked for a confirmation on that, this is what they sent me.

It has now been pushing month 4 and I still have not received my "Guarantied full refund"

Desired outcome: Refund me like promised.

Lifetouch Product

I’m not sure why my sons school does not hire another company. Life touch picture quality sucks and the schools seriously need to get a new company. I also feel like life touch does not know what to do when it comes to taken pictures darker skin complexion kids. Horrible company. I guess as long as the school is using this company I won’t be paying for my kids pictures. I can take better school pictures on my iPhone myself.

Lifetouch Pictures

Just placed an order today for my grandson's pictures. I found out that my wife already paid for his pictures. I called them within an hour to cancel the order and they would not cancel it.

Desired outcome: My money back.

Lifetouch Not receiving pictures

I ordered my sons kindergarten pictures (his first year of school) in November of 2021 and it is now February 2022 and I’m being told I will not receive the items I paid for. It is absolutely ridiculous that my kids go to the same school did their pictures the same time and I received my daughters but can’t get my sons. I will not be a returning customer to this company at all.

Desired outcome: I’d like to receive the pictures I paid for.

Lifetouch Lifetouch

My son's school pictures were taken by Lifetouch. I received the pictures and noticed a random blue streak on his face. I contacted customer service via chat. They attempted to correct their mistake by reprinting the pictures and sending them to me. Unfortunately the pictures still had the same random blue streak.

This is unacceptable from professional photographers.

Desired outcome: I did received a refund however I am disappointed that I don't have quality pictures for this school year. Lifetouch needs to rise to the professional status that they claim to have.

Lifetouch Price of pictures

A couple of years ago I ordered my daughter's school pictures and the prices were more than reasonable when it came to the packages as well as being able to customize the pictures to my liking. I didn't order pictures last year because I wasn't happy with the proofs, simply because my daughter didn't even have a slight smile in them. This year I liked the proofs and decided to order pictures again, except for this time the packages are way too pricey and you don't have the option to customize the pictures in the basic or standard packages. Not everybody needs what your packages offer, which is why I chose to get one 8x10 and two 5x7, not to mention I didn't see any 4x6 on the site. So, for three pictures customized as far as just the backgrounds are concerned, I paid over $40 for it. If I wanted to add my child's name to the picture it was an additional $15 which is beyond ridiculous. Also, I decided the two 5x7 pictures for $15 that I was allowed to customize but in doing so the background I decided was the same on both pictures rather than me being able to have two different ones like I was able to do the year before last. I'm more than unhappy and will more than likely never order pictures through you all again unless your package prices change and us parents are able to customize the pictures and actually have better options to choose from. The only reason I decided to order pictures this year is simply because I haven't had the time to go and get professional pictures done myself.

Desired outcome: There isn't no real outcome. But if there was one it would be to focus on the things I put in my complaint listed in my review.

Lifetouch Picture not received check cashed months ago.

Ordered pictures of my grandson months ago (Mt. Blue school) and money was taken out of my account. I work at a different school and understand the process and I am wanting my pictures that were already paid for. Phone number given on website does NOT work and I can not reach anyone. Will it take a drive to Gardner to get this resolved? Lifetouch School Picture

This company is pathetic. They never sent my son's class picture and when I contacted them months later they said it was in the printing phase and would be sent out soon. A month later, still nothing! So, today I called again and despite it being January 7th their voicemail says they are closed in observance of the holiday. How could a company be so unorganized that a week later they still haven't realized their out of office message is still on? The sad thing is we saw the proof and it was a great picture of my son, but I guess screwing people out of money is really what this company is all about.

Lifetouch Product and service

The photographer did not care to focus in correctly on my child face. She stated he was rushing her and the quality of the picture shows. Only one side of my daughter face is showing. These are memorable moments for families and the photographer should show more care and concern of children photos! I will never purchase from this company ever again! I have a large social platform and I definitely posted the horrible display from this company! Many ppl had nothing but bad things to say

Lifetouch Picture quality and wrong name on pictures, no show and slow delivery

I ordered pictures for both of my daughters (54​06925270 for Jessie and 54​06925262 for Kyleen) on October 7, 2020 at Holy Spirit Catholic School. Please compare these photos to previous photos of my kids. The quality is just not as good. The lighting, the touch up (Kyleen's teeth look yellow and Jessie has an abnormal check crease) and blurry. The previous year's were vibrant. The class picture of Jessie's PreK class is a joke. He took several pictures and THAT was the best one. I know how many he took because I was the parent assistant that day. The school's experience with Lifetouch was horrible. You were suppose to be there the next day but the only one who knew that you were not going to be there was the out of state photographer that you sent to Helena instead of doing our booked second day. You said you would be back on Thursday and you were a no show with out even calling to tell us. Talk about upset parents! When you did show, that person was great and I am thinking had better pictures than the first person but I only saw a few. Then we didn't get our pictures for over 2 months! Then the pictures are not that great and Jessie's pictures have Kyleen's name on them. We couldn't do retakes because we didn't have pictures yet so who knows if you will even come to our little school to do them. I am also the Home and School President and have heard plenty of complaints. Our school needs to know when and if you are coming back for retakes. I need to know if I can get Jessie's pictures with her name on it. I don't know if I trust to do retakes as the images may not be any better and it may take way too long. No parent wants to do retakes. Plus the coupon I got for helping (I helped both days but only one coupon which is about half of what it use to be) I was not able to use as I already paid for my pictures. The school has spent countless hours trying to contact you. I just don't understand what has happened with Lifetouch!

Desired outcome: New pictures with better quality and the right names on them, Lifetouch booking a retake day and showing up for it, a useable coupon on what I have already ordered, and a new PreK picture (that can't be the best one he took!).

I ordered pictures I never recieved. They have no customer service and the online web tracker says my order number does not exsisit. But I was charged 54.00 for pictures.

Lifetouch School portrait

My son took his school picture in September, it is now December and I never received the picture. I wanted to use it for Christmas gifts and now I can't as they won't expedite shipping even though this was their error. I really hope schools switch to a new company. This company clearly lacks customer service and skills to run correctly.

Desired outcome: Get my pictures by Christmas!

Lifetouch School pictures

School pictures of my 10 year old grandson with his mask on who would pay good money for school pictures and not be able to see there childs face the mask should of been removed for the shot and than put right back on why would you waste our time and are childs time we give theses pictures or our kids to family members as gifts they want to see there loved ones face not a mask to remind them of a time that was scary for them please fix this unbelievable .

Lifetouch School pictures

Honestly, I do not know how this company keeps getting gigs. I have five kids and have been getting school pics for over 20 years from Lifetouch. They are always bad. Always. It just ranges from bad to awful. Our schools have used other photography companies through the years and they are always, and I mean 100% of the time, provide a much better product at the same or lower price point.

My complaint is you do not provide an email or chat to contact you. Even your contact url you have forwarded to your help page. You just get so many complaints that you have taken down the easiest means by which to contact you. Yes, you have a phone number but, you also know that is the least likely means by which a customer will contact you.

You took my daughter's pictures at MacArthur Middle School. Fort George G. Meade, Maryland. Portrait ID: NMS6-XK99. The picture is terrible, as usual. Why can't your photographer, or his/her assistant, just remind the kids to brush their hair? You know they have been playing, schooling, eating for hours. Such a simple thing. Even so, I must order some anyways and those are all we have. Now you want $8.00 shipping?!

My resolution is that you retake the pics, deliver to the school with no shipping fee, and that you change your business practices to provide a decent product and multiple avenues to contact customer support like a company that cares about customer support.

Lifetouch School pictures

What is going on with your company? We just got our retakes back and they are worse than the first pictures! It looks like the photographer places the child in front of the camera, clicks once, and that's it! I will never purchase school photos again if they are going through lifetouch. Better off using the $150 that I spend on my three kids and getting a mini session with a professional…. A professional that cares about their work. Clearly, you are having a hard time getting someone to take pictures for you that takes any pride in their work. We've also had issues with our team photos with sports. Get it together, lifetouch! I heard you were under new management…you need to try and at least do the same kind of work as the people who came before you! I'm calling tomorrow and asking for a refund for these overpriced terrible pictures. I'm beyond annoyed.
