LabCorp - customer service, professionalism, discriminatory, rude, and standard of care

This LabCorp is located on S. State Street in Dover, DE 19901
First incidence was arrival at 3:15 p.m. Jan 17, 2019 according to website office hours are until 5 p.m.
Upon arrival no one was at the desk... My 22 year old recent C.N.A. graduate and State Licensed daughter was there for employment drug test (the Veterans Home located in Milford, DE where she did her clinical s for class had offered her a job telling her if she passed her state test they wanted to hire her full time, which she did) We checked the kiosk to attempt to check her in however is was not operating at the time. Returned to reception window area and a Woman with Lab coat on started to approach she was approximately 10 feet away and had not seen my daughter's paperwork (Lab Order) and as she was approaching stated Drug Testing is over at 3 o'clock. I bit my tongue at the thought of this assumption of what she was there for without seeing her paperwork. Stated oh I thought you closed at 5? She then said, "no we close at 4 and googles website search tells you that, it was updated about 5 months ago". I showed her on my phone that in fact google search did show 5p.m. In any case she stated testing ends at 3. I then asked if the other location on Route 8 was open till 5 and she replied "No, and we are the only ones that do the drug testing the other site does not". So, I simply said well then, you'll have to come back on Monday to my daughter as my vacation was to start on Saturday, January 19, 2019. Once outside I told my daughter how inappropriate and infuriating it was for her the worker to assume that she was there for drug testing without even seeing her paperwork/lab order. We returned to get the test done on January 23, 2019 at approximately 11:15 a.m. My daughter checked in using the Kiosk which was fine, we waited about 20 minutes for her to be called back and she was unable to urinate, the Lab Tech told her she had "Shy Bladder" (amazing that is a medical condition diagnosed by Doctors) in any case she told her she could "drink some water but no more than 8 glasses from their dispenser and then try again". about 25 minutes to 30 minutes had passed before she called her back again and within less than 3 minutes she was at the door with her and said to my daughter "well it's a refusal" I asked my daughter what that was all about and she said she went into the bathroom and was in there about a minute and the Lady Tech named Nija knocked on the door and stated" If you can't go you'll have to come out and it will be noted as a refusal, and that she will be calling the employer". Evelyn (my daughter said "well I guess I can come back tomorrow and try again"). The tech never said you can't do that or any other thing for that matter. We left and again I felt the unprofessional rudeness. I told my daughter to call the Veteran's home which she did and spoke with her HR contact whom told her she would have to call the state to see if she could get another form so she could return for the test and stated she was unsure if they would get that approved fast enough so that she may not be able to start work in February she may have to wait until March. So then today Friday January 5, 2019 my daughter received a call from the Veteran's Home HR contact whom told her the Tech from LabCorp had just called her today and Stated" That Evelyn refused to sign the paper for the refusal and left the Lab" Which indeed never occurred as I stated I was right there when my daughter and the Tech Nija came to the door and Nija said it's a refusal. HR told my daughter she would have to go to LabCorp to settle the dispute and see if they would try to do the testing again. (What dispute) she also said that Evey's account of what happened was the same up to the shy bladder statement, but the Lab Tech had a totally different version of what happened after that. So I told my daughter to get ready and let's go to LabCorp we got there at approximately 1:40 p.m. Evelyn explained to the receptionist and 2 other Lab Techs One being their Supervisor what she was there for and the receptionist asked is she had a new order and stated they could not repeat the test without a new number the Supervisor was listening, and also was polite in Our explaining what had occurred when my daughter was there last and what had occurred since and the conversation she had with HR and the Supervisor said to see if they (Veterans home HR) could call them. I asked about what had happened when she was in their last and how I didn't understand how it was a refusal and a dispute the receptionist first answered with once you walk out of the Lab it's a refusal. I stated, "then why would the tech knock on the bathroom door within about a minute and tell my daughter that if she couldn't go that she would have to come out and that it would be noted as a refusal"? The Supervisor said she would need to speak with the tech to see what happened and that "normal procedure is it is a refusal once you decide to walk out the door of the Lab facility" also she stated "that usual is you are given 3 tries and that my daughter should have been told she could drink more water and try again when she told them she was ready". This is not what went on... The Tech Ninja then came out and plopped yes I said plopped down in a chair in the reception area and with a very glaring look said you told me you had to leave to my daughter whom then stated she never said she had to leave and said you knocked on the door and said if I couldn't pee that I had to come out and that it would be noted as a refusal.. You also never offered that I could drink more water and try again. Well at that point I interjected to Ninja whom was indeed glaring at me and said I was right here you came to the door with my daughter and said it is a refusal you didn't in fact say or offer her to drink more water and try again and I know she did not tell you she had to leave as I'm on vacation and there was no time frame other than trying to get this done. Still glaring at me I also stated there was no need to look at me like that. Nija then said, "First off I'm not going to argue with you and you are going to leave or I am going to call the Police". I said excuse me call the police for what, I'm trying to get an explanation of what the miscommunication is here with the HR from the Veteran's home telling my daughter she needed to come in and settle a dispute with LabCorp which again I said I didn't know there was a dispute and additionally you did not offer her a third try as I have been informed is normal procedure here. The Supervisor whom still was being polite as was I (mind you not feeling I should be by this time after the total unprofessional blatant rudeness of Nija) along with the other 2 Lab tech and Receptionist. I said this shy bladder is an actual medical condition and the Supervisor said yes if my daughter brought in a note from her Doctor with that they could then go from there. but if not without another Lab Order number they could not try to repeat the test. I thanked her for her time, and she said Yes ma'am as well as the receptionist did and left... Stating I would be filing a complaint and calling their Corporate Office. Which I fully intend to do.
Not only was there the assumption with the first visit! Then the unprofessional "Not Normal" procedure with the second visit. The third today was the absolute appalling interaction with an employee being blatantly rude and threatening, totally unprofessional attitude and reaction.

This will likely result in costing a young woman whom went to school, paid out of her own pocket for her C.N.A. education, passed State Testing and did her clinical s so well in a Veterans home that they wanted her to work for them full time that opportunity. Whom mind you thankfully does not do any sort of drugs in a world full of so much addiction. Which I am grateful to "God" for this!

Personally, I would pull the Contract the State of DE Veterans home has with LabCorp! As for the Rude, Unprofessional Tech she needs not only some work ethics counseling, she needs anger management counseling or to say the least knowledge of how to be respectful to patients and their families.
