La Rocca – Restaurant

We went to Canal walk cape town on Saturday 1st October and we always go and eat at La Rocca, Their food is great. The Arsenal soccer match was starting so we decided to have lunch and watch the game which we expressed before being seated. We waited about 35 min for our food and as our food arrived half hour into the match they changed over to the rugby so we asked our waiter to ask, (co owner / manager) if he could please change back. Now if he had come over and explained that someone more important than us had come in then I would have some respect, but we were sitting right by the service area and heard him say to our waiter, tell them to take their food as a takeaway and go. I found this so rude, I got up and approached him myself and only paid for our drinks as I didnt take the food which he would now probably make the waiter pay for, sorry only thought about that now. I will never go back there and will tell everyone I meet about the horrible feeling I had leaving. Very poor service from the one person in the restaurant that should know how to treat people.
