WOW! I THINK THIS MIGHT HAVE HAPPENED TO MY DAD! I REALLY NEED SOME MORE INFO ABOUT THIS CASE, I HAVE PICS OF THE SO CALLED BREEZY LANE THAT LIVES ON HOUGHTON LAKE MICHIGAN AND THE PHONE CAME UP TO MARY PARR? PLEASE PLEASE IF YOU CAN GIVE ME ANY INFORMATION THAT WOULD BE GREAT.

These 2 are a waste of air and space... They are the laziest people there is.. No one in their family has a job.. They are lowlife fat [censor]... They have nothing better to do then to pray on innocent people.. They are liars and they actually believe the lies they tell.. Stay as far away from them as possible...

Mary Parr, aka Maryssa, Sweets. Unscrupulous liar and manipulator. Anyone that goes to the lengths she does to attract attention has serious mental illness. She went so far as to claim her husband, Patrick Parr attacked and abused her and was tried and convicted. All the time she is posting her anniversary, etc. in the church newsletter. The most unfortunate thing is she has two sons who will live dysfunctional lives due to having a pathological liar as a mother (if you can call it that).

OMG, my friend just found these posts searching online! A group of us chatters were completely duped and scammed by this woman who calls her Ryssa and posts pics of herself looking like a gorgeous, blonde woman. She told us she had cancer and had 6 months to live. She told us she couldn't pay her bills and one of the men in the chatroom sent her money. Another chatter sent her an expensive gift basket b/c we thought she was really ill. We finally caught on to her lies and exposed her. I contacted the Michigan Attorney General's Office and filed a complaint, but it went nowhere. Has anyone pursued any action against her and Kourtnie?

I wish someone would take action against them...

I need as much information as I can get about these people. If what you all say is true then I am yet another victim. Proof. I need more proof then just hearsay. I have alot invested in this woman, Maryssa.

I'm not sure what type of proof you need. I have pics of the woman she claims to be. I have a pic of what she really looks like. I have emailed with other people who have been frauded by her misrepresentation of herself and people who have sent her money and gifts b/c she claimed she was dying of breast cancer. She did send me an apology email once, but I deleted it I think. So what type of proof are you needing?

The timeline of these chats are very important as well as where they took place. I need to talk privately. Is that possible?

I don't think it will be possible to do anything about these people. It's easy to believe the person on the other side of the monitor is all they say they are, but it's usually not true and someone like this will be an opportunist and get people to offer to send money and god knows what else. Mary started up an online relationship with a guy named Steve in Salt Lake City and even got him to lie for her also. Of course after he ended his marriage and opened his eyes it was all over.

I actually got in contact with Steve. While I was still believing Mary was really "Ryssa, " she told me she met a guy named Steve on Match.com and she sent me his profile. Well, after we found out what a scammer and liar she was, I emailed him and we talked on the phone a few times. He was completely duped and was not the only man to be mislead into thinking Mary was a beautiful blonde who wanted a relationship. So sad how many people she has done this to and there seems to be no way to put an end to it. I see in their local newspaper that Kourtnie has had quite a bit of legal/criminal trouble and spent time in jail. I can't believe the scamming they do has not been investigated.

I heard today of a similar case in which the person is being sued for fraudulent misrepresentation. Apparently, there is legal recourse for those who actually were scammed into sending money.

She didn't meet Steve on match.com. He was complicit in her lies.

The Steve I spoke with, she met on Match.com and he and his chatter friends were all duped by her. She pursued him romantically, spoke on the phone with him, sent him sexy pics of some blonde that wasn't actually her, and then when he actually wanted to book a flight to go see her, she would always have an excuse. So she must have "dated" two Steve's then.
Yes, you can take legal recourse...cause of action: misrepresentation. You are right!

Yes, I've been keeping up with Kourtnie's legal problems in their local newspaper online. From what I have learned, she and her mother are in on the scams together.

Also, . their father, Patrick Parr, is a truck driver, or was anyway a few years ago. From what I understand, Mary is a recluse and never socializes. She will not allow her picture to ever be taken, although I did finally see one of her and Kourtnie on FB. The father and 2 sons are involved in Cub Scouts and they all work for the local fire dept.

Has anyone seen the pic of the "real" Mary Parr on Kourtnie's FB page? I have!

I don't know if they're still on MySpace, but they have accounts (and it's Mother like Daughter--Like Whoa). There's also a Houghton Lake class of 1982 Facebook page on which there are reunion pics and where Mary has posted. Would be interested to know if she is in any of the pics from someone who has seen her pic before.

I've seen a pic of the real Mary. Would be interesting to contact someone from her class, huh? Of course, I'm sure Mary or Kourtnie, or both, are following what is being said on this website.

When I saw her picture the only thing that came to mind was, "been rode hard and put away wet". Course, it's not like her fella's any great looker either.

OMG, this blew me away when I saw it. I know of this family and was told that Mary scammed my friend's father so I decided to see what I could find on her and her daughter online. It looks like the daughter is even more of a dirtbag than the mother. I saw this in our local paper from last August--Kourtnie R. Parr, 25, Houghton Lake, abandoning/cruelty to animals: 40 days in jail, $2, 384 in fines, costs or restitution, and six months probation.
This poor excuse for a woman is a psychopath and my friend told me she has a little boy, too. I can't imagine what a horrible mother she must be--getting in bar fights, torturing animals, driving drunk--jeez, someone should save that kid.

Couldn't cut it even tho his dad works there- kicked out by unanimous vote. Maybe mom and big sis can teach him to scam for a living.

So the apples do not fall far from the tree in this family! I'm still amazed at how many people are aware of this family and their crimes, yet they still get away with it. How has no law enforcement agency caught wind of them?

Karma has done her thing to Mary. Her whole town knows what a loser she is and she is not only too fat to go out, but too ashamed.

I showed this to my friend and now her father is thinking about going to law enforcement. He's collected a bunch of messages from a couple of years ago that are very damaging when put together with all of this information. He's ashamed of being duped, but I think he might be pissed off enough to file charges.

Yes, in the past we did know her address. I'm just curious as to who the woman is in the photos that Mary uses. She has tons of photos of this woman that she passes off as herself.

This is all very interesting and informative, and plays in well what I have experienced but without actual pictures of the "real Mary Parr" then its just hearsay with people who have a bone to pick, or person on a vendetta. Lets see some absolutes with all these accusations, please.

Hearsay has nothing to do with a pic of the real Mary Parr. I've seen a pic of the real Mary Parr on her daughter's FB page, as well as spoken to more than one person who knows her personally. I don't have to prove anything to you, Astrovan.

No, you don't have to prove anything to me, sir, but to come on here and make the accusations that you have about a particular person and not being able to prove anything to back up your claims then you are doing the very same thing, running a scam. I could care less what you have seen or who you've talked to, to come here and make public statements about an individual is liable if you have no physical proof of your claims. You come on here behind a fictitious name, anonymous, and slander a person. You could just be a neighbor who's lawnmower was borrowed and never returned by her so your "getting even". Your claims are baseless unless you can prove what you say to be, sir.

So you must be a friend of the Parr's, I assume lol. I'd say that if you go back and read the posts on this thread, you will see there is abundance evidence from multiple sources. I could tell you how and when I busted Mary Parr, but you are too hard headed to get it. Or that I filed a complaint with the Attorney General's office in Michigan...but then again, you still won't get it. It sure was fun catching her in the lie about having gamma knife surgery when we called the supposed hospital she was in. And how she emailed me and tried to apologize for lying and scamming our group of friends...ahhhhh such great evidence.

I'm not a friend of the Parr clan and I have read all the posts on this board. I am actually just another person much like you and all the others who have spoke on here. I have had the involvement, have heard the lies and have also proved her wrong but my interest is is hearing the specific details, to see how they coincide with my experiences, that is why I pressed you negatively. You say you could tell me how and when you busted her. I'm all ears.
