Dear Sir and Madam,
My name is Kaoru Kobayashi, living in Victoria for 38 years. I've just been to Canadian Tire store at 9:35am. on #366 - West shore town Town Centre, Langford, BC. and bought a lighter for my fireplace. When I walked into the store, there were two other customers, besides me, and about ten employees were here and there in the store. As I didn't know where the lighters were displayed, I walked through each aisle quickly, but was in vain; however, all of a sudden, one woman employee showed up in front of my face, and said bluntly "I want you to put your bag at the counter." It was as if I were shop lifting. Or just because I looked different. I was really taken aback by her disregard attitude for the customer. Store workers should greet all customers equal, and cautiously. .." Good d morning, how may I help you ?" would be most appropriate as customer service etiquette. Anyhow I gave my pack carrying on my back to another woman employee. After purchasing the lighter, when I asked for my bag back. But no one was at the service counter, but my North Face bag was laying on the floor unattended: Anyone could have taken it with my passport and money in it. I usually forget about things like this. But not this morning I couldn't let it be so. They were pretty rude as far as I'm concerned. Customer service can make or break your reputation. Sincerely,
