I received my statement from John Hancock, which showed a $30 fee. When I called, I was told it was a $15 monthly fee. However, when I contacted my employer, I was informed that if I transferred my funds to another financial institution, there would be a $30 fee. If I kept my account with my employer, there would be no fees, and the account would be transferred to John Hancock. I called John Hancock to confirm this information, and it was confirmed to me. I also called my employer, and it was confirmed that there should be no fees, as this was an IRA rollover, not a withdrawal. Had I known there would be a $15 monthly fee, I would have simply transferred my account after leaving my job to avoid these fees. I did not receive any notices informing me of the monthly fees. I called and spoke with Joey, and then with her supervisor, France, who told me the fees could not be refunded. I explained that I had been misinformed by your company after confirming the details. I was given confirmation number #444307,in case I wanted to pursue this matter further. I also requested to transfer my funds to another institution, but again, I was charged a $30 fee. I explained that the account had approximately $200, and no one would have agreed to a $15 monthly fee, as after 11 months, the account would have been drained. The only reason I discovered this was when I called for an updated statement. I had not received any correspondence about my account. I was told that, because there were no transactions on the account, I would not receive a statement. I responded, "No transactions? What do you call withdrawing $15 every month?" The phone went silent. I did not receive any notices about the fees, nor have I received monthly statements until now, when I requested a statement. If I had not made this request, my account would have gone to zero, my most recent year end summery shows 75$ in fees. When I called john Hancock same results, no help.
