I Maria Mieles went to JDM Engine to get a manual transmission engine for a Subaru. I arrived with my friend and mechanic, Hugo. I stated to him that I will pay for his engine in exchange for him to do some work on my vehicle. So, this engine was for Hugo’s vehicle. Hugo told the manager, (Didn’t give his name) that he wanted a manual transmission engine. So, he gave him an engine that according with the manager is both manual and automatic. But, the manager never reveals that to Hugo or me. We took the engine not knowing that it was the wrong one because the manager didn’t say it was a universal kind of engine and the mechanic that is going to provide the work to my friend, told him that this is not the engine for this car, that this is an automatic and not a manual engine. So, on 09/27/2022 around 1:15pm we took the engine back, because he gave us the wrong engine.

Here is where the scam began. I see on the bottom of the receipt he gave us that it says, “If under any circumstances an item is being returned to us or order canceled there is a 20% restocking fee.” This is the reason why he gave us the wrong engine. The manager claims is both manual and automatic Transmation and that is that the mechanic is too lacey and don’t want to do the job. That he can do the job for $750. Hugo told him that this was too expensive sense his mechanic was going to charge him $500. The managers told him take it or leave it but the 20% restocking fee was in effect. This manager was so arrogant, plus the owner (Zia) kept calling him. This owner was looking on the cameras he had and probably listening to the conversation. The manager didn’t know how much to give me back. He said it was it was $1030 from the $1378. I told him that he was trying to keep the $78 tax. And I asked why he said that he was trying to take the $260 from the $1300. OK and I said “How about the tax? You are keeping it? I gave you the engine back.” The manager kept saying that he didn’t have to reveal to us that the engine was both. I told him that he should of because Hugo would have asked his mechanic before we would purchase the engine. And I wouldn’t be having this conversation with him. I called USAA bank to see if I could dispute the transaction on my America Express Card. I was trying for the manager to give a receipt that stated the total purchase $1,378 – the 20% restocking fee $260 = my refund $1,118 and for some reason he couldn’t get it right. Hugo and I stay there for almost 2 hours. We left there at 3:05 according with the receipt. I have videos of this incident.

Desired outcome: Will like to get the $260 back. But above all I want everyone to know that this is a scam and that these scammers need to be stop. (Trying to upload some videos and I can't)
