I’ve been a repeat customer and regularly order from Fashion Nova for delivery to Seychelles. According to customs regulations in Seychelles, you have an allowance of SCR3000 on personal imports, after which you have to pay taxes on anything exceeding this.

A placed 2 orders within 2/3 weeks of each other, had no issues with the first, but when I went back for another, saw that I had to pay taxes on the site itself. Did so thinking this would be passed on to my local customs, only to have to pay taxes AGAIN when my parcel reached my country, and to realise fashion nova charged over double what I had to pay locally. After many back and forth, this is the response I got:

Please note that for international shipments, the goods will be imported on behalf of the consignee/buyer. The consignee authorizes Fashion Nova to import the goods on his behalf. Further, the consignee/buyer agrees that Fashion Nova may delegate the obligation to import the goods on its behalf to a subcontractor (e.g. customs broker). The consignee will pay the taxes & duties in addition to the purchase price of the goods.

Since when?!

Desired outcome: A desirable outcome would be for fashion nova to refund the taxes I paid on its site.
