Don't trust Kathy Doyle-Winslow of Lazydazegolden. She will take you money and sell you a sick puppy. Giardia, heart murmurs, heartworms, you name it - she even lost an entire breeding line in 2010. If you purchase a dog from her and have trouble your calls will not be returned and you'll be out the money you paid. There is no puppy lemon law with regard to private breeders and Kathy Doyle-Winslow knows this... I can't say it enough. STAY AWAY FROM KATHY DOYLES-WINSLOW'S dogs. You or your kids may actually get sick. This happened to me!

Agreed, I did not provide enough info.

The puppies line ended when her mother died. She was two years old. The breeder would not give a reason for the loss on the mom and got very defensive when asked. There were two other dogs that dies as well, again without explanation.

The puppy had giardia and staph infection on pickup. I didn't find out until after a health check by a vet three days after purchase (weekend). The dog develop a severe limp within a few days after this. No falls, no harsh treatment, and no un-crated time alone, and always on a leash when out walking. Went back to vet where x-rays were taken. Bones where found to be significantly diminished in development (thin) vet suggesting nutritional deficiency of calcium uptake (never heard of breeder before). There were fractures in humerus and ulna on the affected side. Vet suggested contacting the breeder who became abusive when I asked for a refund. This was only 5 days post purchase. That was the last phone call or email the breeder would take or return. BBB claim I have no legal recourse because 1) there in no puppy lemon law when private breeders are concerned, and 2) although I can prove there was a problem with the puppy, I can't prove it wasn't my fault which of course would be her defense. Again I say, avoid this breeder at all cost. She is a low life who took me for my money. I ended up with thousands of dollars in vet bills and ultimately no family pet as I was forced to put the dog down because the leg fracture continued to get worse. He was in so much pain ultimately only lived to 18 weeks.

Completely agree with the other posts. We purchased our golden in 2011, he's had small medical problems over the years but he was just diagnosed with extremely severe late-stage genetic kidney failure at 4 years old! We're devastated! We're doing everything we can, but not much can be done.

$16, 000 for him + thousands in vet bills + 4 years of specialty food

James, I am sorry for the loss of your puppy and the burden of the vet bills. I purchased a dog from Kathy as well. Upon pickup, she gave me medicine that was supposedly for the transition to my new home. She claimed that Goldens have sensitive stomachs and may be upset for the first few days. The truth was that the first bowel movement he had with me, there was blood in the stool! It was Giardia. He also had green gunk oozing from his eyes. That eventually went away. Fortunately, he is now two years old and somewhat healthy. He still has a sensitive stomach and can only eat Prescription Diet food. I feel very lucky that he is doing well so far. Everyone adores my dog and he is a sweet good looking dog. I am glad I came across your complaint because I have a friend who is interested in getting a Golden from my breeder. I not be forwarding her Lazydaze info. Thanks again.
PS- what litter did your pup come from?
