This occurred on August 12, 2022. Hired Clark Medlin, owner of Hartfield Home Solutions to replace two sagging shelves in my den. It required stronger boards to eliminate the sagging. Also hired to fix a bedroom door that did not shut properly. The the new shelves sagged in the middle the next day.

Clark returned with sturdier boards. He showed up more than an hour late. No courtesy of a phone call. He did not sand the selves or prepare them at all. He used the same materials for trim again that he used the first time and replaced the boards. The trim was left with nails sticking out and the trim was not properly finished.

He abruptly left when he thought he was finished without asking me if everything was ok. I expected everything to be fine. I was appalled when I looked at it. I called him back from his truck as he was leaving. He did not like that I raised my voice to call him back while he was pulling off. I showed him his terrible paint job and the terrible finish job. He said, "it takes two hours for the paint to dry. You have the paint and you can finish it yourself. You don't owe me [censored]." Well, I already paid him the first time. He thought I should pay for the new boards. I told him it is his mistake, and it is his responsibility to fix it.

I was left with a job that needed a better prep job, a second coat and trim work that needed to be replaced from the first job. Also, chalk the cracks in the wood.

Bottom line it was a terrible job, and I am left needing to correct it.

Also, while Clark was upstairs fixing the door, I came up to see how it was going. He was sanding the door and was allowing the shavings to fall directly and pile up on my carpet. He failed to use anything to protect my carpet. I told him that was unacceptable, and he cleaned it up with his vacuum. All he needed to do was ask me for a towel to put on the floor. It would have saved him from getting debris on my carpet and 20 minutes to clean it all up.

Also, I found mud on the stairs from his shoes. He never took them off as he was walking in and out of my home. He had no regard for my property.
