Gurstel Law Firm review: Judgment/garnishment with out notice...

I had an extremely disappointing experience with this law firm. I was never personally served with court papers, nor did I receive any notice by regular or certified mail regarding the lawsuit. Despite that, a judgment was entered, and I later discovered my wages were being garnished. I had to work with my employer to identify the source and also that this "debt collector" has sent garnishment for 3x the original loan...

To make matters worse, the debt they were attempting to collect had been paid off in 2020. Instead of taking the time to verify the accuracy of the debt or investigate the matter, they proceeded with collection efforts that caused unnecessary financial hardship and stress.

In my experience, there was little concern for fairness or due diligence—only collecting money. I believe consumers deserve proper notice and an opportunity to respond before a judgment is entered against them. I encourage anyone dealing with this firm to keep thorough records, verify the status of any alleged debt, and seek legal advice if something doesn't seem right.
