Granite City review: Father's Day brunch at Granite City

This occurred yesterday, on Father's Day, June 19, 2022 at Granite City Food & Brewery in Schaumburg, IL.

We are fairly regular customers and we love Granite City's Sunday Brunch, but on Father's Day, they put us and our two grandsons in an extremely loud room, where I imagine they stick people with unruly children. It was filthy. We had to stand and wait by the table while the busboy went to get something to clean off the table.

The "Father's Day" buffet had mostly scrambled eggs, bacon, sausage, and sad little BBQ pork chops (very small).

It was about $7.00 per adult more than their regular Sunday Brunch. There was no way I was paying $30 for adults and $15 for my grandsons for a plate of scrambled eggs. We turned around and walked out. We were all starving at that point. We had to stop at Portillo's on the way home, and fortunately, we were able to get a reservation at Cooper's Hawk for dinner.

It was the noise and filth at Granite City that turned us off the most.

As for the filthy tables and floors, I understand that because of Covid, restaurants are understaffed. So don't even think I will be sympathetic to that excuse. Because, and listen closely, if you can't accommodate your patrons, you need to limit the amount of customers you let in. And you certainly better not think you can charge more for poor service, inadequate cleanliness and poor quality.

I am terribly disappointed in Granite City. It was our favorite Sunday Brunch spot for years.

And while I'm at it. I am very disappointed in their rewards program. The Customer has to do all the work. I have to take the receipt, enter it the amount of our bill myself under my account. Most places take your phone number and take care of the details. I don't like their rewards system at all.

All in all it was an extremely unsatisfying experience.
