Gold Standard Moving and Storage Company review: Did not provide service refused to refund deposit

Stay away from these crooks. I put down deposit for two moves (one contingent on the second). I explained that I live in NY but my father had passed and I needed to have a dining room set (hutch and chairs) moved from North Carolina to Philadelphia and a curio cabinet and recliner from North Carolina to NY. Told it couldn't be done in one trip, that all the furniture would need to be brought from NC and then another trip would be scheduled for Philadelphia to NY. I had to give a deposit of $1090.00 for first trip and a deposit for$959.00 for second trip. I drove to NC and received confirmation truck would be there between 9-6 on August 6. No one came, no one called. When I called, they said driver was running late and would be there shortly. Needless to say, there was no call and no show for the three days I was promised they would be there. I had to drive back to NY. After hours and days trying to get a refund for my deposits because they didn't show and the second move couldn't happen because first one didn't happen, I was told they considered refusing pick up because the driver reported he was "blowing up my phone and I didn't answer" no one called! I sent copies of my phone records and texts, and there was no call from the so-called driver. They wouldn't refund a second trip because to be eligible I would have had to cancel on July 20, how could I know that they wouldn't show on August 6 then? They are scam artists and crooks! They owe me more than two thousand dollars
