On May 4, 2025, I made a donation towards a funeral fund opened by the daughter of a family member.

Almost 2 months later, on or about June 25, GFM retrieved my donation from the young lady’s account, telling her that said funds had been returned to me, which was completely FALSE.

Please note that the retrieval of that donation caused the petitioner’s bank account to overdraft and for her account to incur extra charges.

On the evening of the day of retrieval of the funds from her account, AFTER said retrieval had been made, GFM sent me a confirmation email asking if I had intended to make the donation of May 4. To which I responded YES. And they acknowledged receipt of my reply.

As of today, 7/25/2025, there is no trace of the funds: they have not been put back into the young lady’s account nor have they been returned to me either.

When questioned by me concerning the whereabouts of the funds, GFM went as far as to FALSELY claim that my donation had been refunded to me. My bank does not have the funds, the card used has no information on the whereabouts of the funds, and they are still missing from the young lady’s account.

It’s not normal for a company to wait almost two months to confirm a donation. And it’s not good business practice to retrieve donations already made and approved by a sender’s bank.

It doesn’t seem ethical to go into petitioners’ accounts to retrieve donations made!

Why is GFM removing funds from intended recipients’ accounts? And why are they saying they returned them to the donor when they did not? What is being done with the funds? Where are the funds being withheld by GFM?

Claimed loss: Donation has disappeared from my account and petitioner’s, additional fees were incurred by petitioner due to overdraft of her account. GFM’s actions and lying to petitioner places strain on familial relations.

Desired outcome: Please return funds to recipient and cover overdraft charges to her account. I would like an apology and would appreciate a response ASAP.
