GoFundMe review: Fundraising for a charity

I opened a GoFundMe fundraiser on the 5th of March 2025 to raise money during lent for 2 organisations close to my heart - Indigenous Australian's and Palestenian Refugees.

I had multiple people (family and friends) donate to this cause. I was meant to take the money and donate to the organisations on Easter Sunday or soon after. When I sought to do so, GoFundMe did not allow it and locked my account asking for details around the 2 organisations I was raising for. I gave them all the details I could find and these are registered aid agencies. The last email I received from GoFunMe was on the 29th of April saying that they are investigating. I have reached out multiple times since then, but each time the person on the chat states that they will escalate with the team, but then I hear nothing.

This has been an awful experience. The organisation should not be keeping people's money that is meant for charity.

It's been 2 months since the money was meant to be released and I still have not got any progress.
