Global Debt Recovery intrum justitia (barclays) are involved of unethical behaviour based on non existing debt

Global Debt Recovery has been involved in sending me letters based on non-existing debt on their behalf of Intrum Justitia (Barclays) in 2016. However, my debt was written off before 2007 because of the original creditor was involved in Mis-selling PPI Scandal. The then Offce of Fair Trading upheld my complaint against Intrum Justitia in 2010 on the ConsumerCredit Act.

Global Debt Recovery Harrassment over untrue debts from 1998

Global debt recovery
I received a letter from the above with some vague message asking me to contact them, which I did. I spoke to some man with a very bad bullying attitude towards me from the start. He said I owed £5000 from 1998 to a bank I cannot recollect ever banking with, at an address I lived in for only a few months, rented, after my divorce. This individual told me that I owned this house and that he had spoken to the person I sold it to! He said he would be sending me Court Summonses and I said I would not be at this address as I was going to France in a few weeks. He said I was lying and he didn't believe I was going anywhere. I put down the phone.
Do we have to put up with people chasing us for debts we don't have and suffer verbal abuse? Are there no ethics or checks in their systems? A less intelligent person might have been frightens to admitting to something or paying for something they didn't owe just out of fright! I will not be bullied by these cheats and liars who as far as I am concerned are outside the law.

Global Debt Recovery Harrassing Calls

I took out a loan in 2007 with Welcome finance, of which I made a few monthly payments to before i fell in to arrears due to past debts arising. This year I received a few letters from a company called Tower Investigations, asking me to call them. I contacted them and was advised it was regarding my outstanding debt with Welcome Finance. At that point i did not enter into an agreement as they advised they would be in touch. Following that I never heard from them at my home address, to receive another trace letter 6 months later from Tower Investigations at my place of work. I ignored that letter, to be contacted on my work phone by a man called James White, from Global Debt Recovery (New Malden in Surrey). He claimed he had been trying to contact me on my mobile but i kept on ignoring his calls. Now I don't understand how I can ignore his calls when the number I held when I took out the loan was no longer in use! Anyway he insisted on telling me that I had no intention of contacting his company following letters they had sent. I had advised him I received letters from Tower Investigations but not Global Debt. At this point he felt the need to tell me that I was lying and that because of how I have delat with this debt he is sure that I don't pay my rent and others. At this point I advised him that I didn't think he was being professional & that my personal life has nothing to do with him or this debt! Following James abusive behaviour he then went on to threaten me with court action. At that point I felt compelled to enter into an agreement that I knew I couldn't afford but felt it was my only option to get this man of my case. I was unable to make the first payment by the due date and therefore was contacted by James again. He continued with his abusive behaviour, continuing to go on about my personal life. I then advised him that I will try and raise the money and forward it to their office. I managed to make the payment, to then find it hard to make the following months payment but I did. Since I have made payments but reduced the amount by half as I was not able to afford the payments. Because I was due to receive a bonus I emailed Global Debt advising them I would be able to make up the difference of what I had owed, having reduced my payments by half over the past 3 months. Unfortunately I did not receive the bonus, so therefore was not able to make the payment to cover the difference. I advised James of this when he contacted me at work last week but he then went off on one again. I don't know what to do as he is threatening to take me to court and apply for an attachment of earnings, of which I can't afford as I am bearly living at present. Sometimes i'm unable to go to work due to lack of funds. I apologise for the essay but I need some assistance on how to deal with this matter as I am tempted to leave my job just to prevent the attachment of earnings!
