I want to complain about my recent visit to Gleneagles Penang. I signed up for health screening -Platinum and some additional test. The test was not done but they demand me to pay for the services. The nurse that was assisting Dr. Regina Yeap was extremely rude! She would glare with anger and frustrations each time I ask a question to the doctor. I pay for consultation services! As a nurse, it is her job to take care and help patients. Her behavior makes her unqualified to be a nurse! She makes us patients feel intimidated!

Country of complaint: Malaysia

Replying to comment of your mum

The GMC pharmacist at the sixth floor are very rude as well. They do not acknowledge their customer at all. There are some who are nice ones.I suggest the management to conduct some trainings for the front liners especially the pharmacy counter at sixth floor. Please care and respect your patients and customers.

Thank you.

Concerns regarding the nursing care experienced by my son during his recent stay in ward 1506B following his ACL operation on January 2, 2026.

During our time in the hospital, we encountered issues with a nurse named Izzah, who is responsible for rooms 1505 to 1507. We pressed the "Call a Nurse Bell" to request warm water for medication, but no one arrived to assist us. In an attempt to resolve the matter, I took the kettle myself and approached Nurse Izzah directly. Unfortunately, her response was less than courteous, and she expressed displeasure at my actions, even asking me to cancel the call.

This experience raises a critical question about the expected role and demeanor of nurses. It is my understanding that nurses are integral to providing not only medical care but also support and comfort to patients. It is essential that they maintain a polite and helpful attitude in all interactions.

Gleneagles Penang has built a strong reputation as an international private hospital, hate to see that reputation tarnished by instances of unpleasant attitudes from staff members. I urge the management to take a closer look at this situation and address the behavior to ensure such experiences are not repeated in the future. Thanks.
