We purchased this bamboo flooring as recommended in the advertisement by Lumber Liquidators (LL) for their Dura Dance Flooring system back in September 2014. We were moving into a new studio and wanted to put a quality floor down with the new move. I purchased through corporate office in NY and it was shipped to LL store in Henderson, NV. It took a little time to get it to our location. I followed the steps provided and it had ample time to acclimate to the conditions of our area. I did not install the floor till December due to construction of the studio. The flooring was beautiful. We moved into the studio in January 2015. By March 2015, the flooring had shrunk past the 1/2 inch baseboard by almost an inch on both long sides of the rooms. We have two dance rooms - one large (1030 sqft) and one smaller (308 sqft). I started noticing that some of the boards were beginning to split and crack. By June 2015 it was beginning to crack and split all over the floor(photo attached). I finally contacted the sales rep I dealt with for the purchase and was put in touch with a claims representative. Sep 2015 I filed a formal claim to LL. There were over 30 cracks and splits in the flooring of the main dance room. I had to do something about this. Dancers were getting splinters and it was not a good situation. LL had an investigator come out to inspect the floor. It took almost two months after the inspection to hear anything back from LL. I had to continually try to get in touch with the claims rep. When I did finally hear from her, she said that basically I installed it improperly and they would not honor the warranty. They would give me a $500 store credit as a consolation. I spent approximately $9, 000.00 total for this flooring. Hardly sufficient. My wife is still trying to fight with them because now we are replacing the whole main dance floor. The claims rep just told her that the floor was not level which caused gapping and therefore that caused the splitting and cracking. That is not the case. I talked to the stores in Henderson and Phoenix and they both assured me that they use this product all the time and I should only expect about a 1/4 inch shrinkage. I kept the flooring a 1/4 inch from the wall for expansion as instructed and we put a half inch baseboard over that. It shrunk almost an inch past the baseboard on two sides and started shrinking on the short sides two. Really sad. Now I've spent more money to replace this bad product. Beware. LL will not honor their warranty.
