When they finally arrived, six men came to do the job. They stood around for a bit speaking to each other in a non-English language and then said that they couldn't do the job and left. I was left confused and frustrated, so I called the company to inform them of what had happened. The girl who answered the phone told me that she would get the operations manager to call me back, but it has been two days, and I still haven't heard from them.

On my second call, the girl told me that the operations manager would call me back, but unfortunately, I would be charged a small fee for them going to the job. I was disappointed that the job wasn't done, and my deposit wasn't returned. Moreover, no one from the company bothered to call me back with any explanation or apologies for their actions.

When they arrived at my home, they realized they had brought the wrong trolley and were unable to move the piano. They promised to return the next day, but never showed up or called to explain why.

I called them the following day and was told that the piano was too heavy for just two people to move, but they would return with additional workers to complete the job. On a typical day, most of the leads I get are for single items, people who are "flexible," and people who are only interested in getting the cheapest price possible. If you pay for 30 leads, it's tough to even use them all in a month. If you're a small business owner, you'll struggle to fill your schedule with leads from this site. And if you have multiple trucks, things will look even worse.

When you take the time to respond to a lead, you send a quote, but there's no way to know if the customer even sees it. It seems like there's no way for the potential customer to respond because out of the 30 leads I paid for, I didn't receive a single response.

And it's not just that they're not responding through the system. Most of the enquiries I get through Find a Mover don't answer the phone or SMS messages either. My own quoting system shows me when emails are opened, and the vast majority of them don't even open the quotes I send.

One person who did answer the phone was rude and said they were sick of being "spammed" by removalists and went with another firm. Maybe this is the kind of person who's too lazy to call up for quotes the traditional way. They seem to think the whole world revolves around them.

Interestingly, in the small print, Find a Mover claims they give enquirer details to up to 7 different companies. But a Google review I read suggests that the actual number might be even higher.

Maybe this site works well for undercutting, uninsured cowboys who can offer cheap prices. But I tried experimenting with different pricing strategies, from my standard hourly and m3 rates to break-even pricing, and I had no success.

I would strongly advise any legitimate removalist to stay away from this site. Let the cowboys have it and let the cheap customers get what they're willing to pay for.
