Farm Bureau Insurance North Carolina review: Cancellation of policies

After 11 years with Farm Bureau covering our home, including a wind and hail policy my partner passed away and they cancelled the insurance. The home was in a Trust but FB wote the policy in the personal name. Keep in mind the wind & Hail and FEMA (all written at the same tine) were written in the name of the Trust. Upon being notified of the cancellation I was told they do not write policies in the name of the Trust, only the grantor;hence. the policy was being cancelled. Since the insurance was paid for the year a rebate was in order. They mailed the check in the name of the deceased, knowing he had passed. They said they had to rebate to the owner of the insurance.instead of the estate. I have been going round and round with the agent and she claims underwriting will have it no other way. It took 11 years and the passing of my partner to find out information that should have been shared at the writing of the policy. Unfortunately I have found the people I have been working with ignorant and dishonest. I secured new insurance in the name of the Trust, of which I am the Trustee, with no problems at all.
