Received a notification in my inbox from Petfinder about a Golden Retriever, Charlie.
Following the instructions, sent text to Donna, then few hours after called and was so rude that I was appalled because is the first time in my life that someone working as a shelter is so rude, unprofessional, uneducated, disrespectful and all those attitudes do not match a pet lover or even a compassionate human being; giving her the benefit of the doubt, sent her a text that I couldn't understand what she said on the phone and expressed my interest in Charlie; she answered back in such a disrespectful way and then sent me a text with questions which I answered and again her response was incoherent and gave signs of bring a crazy woman.. So shocked about this crazy back and forth texts and calls where she hung the phone and left me... So sorry about that poor boy Charlie and praying he could have a home as he deserves... This is unacceptable and she should not be allowed to be dealing with any type of pets.
In shock and amazed how rude, mean, unprofessional, un compassionate person Donna Halpern is. I received notification from Petfinder about a 4 yr Golden Retriever for adoption from this organization. Following the instructions, sent her a text and asked to please call me back as I wanted to meet Charlie, the Golden Retriever. I was on my way to Miami couple of hours after and decided to give her a call; to my disbelief, she started the conversation so rude and I couldn't understand what she was saying and even mentioned I had told her twice about my text and hung up on me. Then received her text saying If didn't know they were in Miami and if I was interested I should know. Then she called and asked if I had called and thinking and giving her the benefit of the doubt, explained I could not understand her and the reason I was asking where in Miami they were is because other places like Homestead and the Keys are also 305 and just by chance if they were in the Keys I was driving from there and didn't want to missed the opportunity in seeing Charlie; again, she hung up on me. Like a crazy person, erratically she sent another text asking about my Vet info, if I own a house if I have another dog, if I know Heart-worming prevention is. Decided answering but text including my history of adoptions with other entities and finalized mentioning that the Vet would be the best person to attest of my history; she then answers"okay never mind. best wishes " and immediately another text "maybe you should listen to what it includes to late now"...really, nothing made sense with that lady except that the conclusion is that her rudeness and erratic behavior are not qualities of an animal lover and I'm really concerned about the wellbeing of those poor dogs/ cats and now about the sweet Charlie. She is not capable of having "an adoption center"...no explanation for this. In my whole life I've never met rescue organizations with mean people. Her behavior speaks volumes of the kind of person who's not apt for caring for animals. Animal lovers are compassionate, kind and great human beings...The more I think about this interaction yesterday, the more shock I'm and appalled!... This is a WOW!...she should be investigated and ask for proof of her previous records of adoptions and check of her behavior with people, neighbors, etc...I'll guess there are much more issues similar to the people who is complaining...REALLY SAD and no way to understand her erratic, nasty and disrespectful showing what kind of heart she has.
